Crafting .. will that bring braking items down.

One thing that bugged me with M/O TES, running out of Arrows. Hated that, I always start TES games As a snakey marskman & well .. when you run out of arrows it is quite A slow down. Would always dream of A tes where I could make my own arrows . Say i find some steel arrmor that I wont use, I could bring it back to town pay (or do it my self if I had the skill ) and use that steel too make some Arrow tips ... Now being that every good Archer knows how too fletch .. i could make Arrows. I dont know, Maybe its just me .. but when you start out A TES game and dont know where too buy or farm arrows ... it really makes it a hard skill too use that skill ; it always falls behind swords. Now that being another thing that would erk me ... A human being shot by A arrow from the dark .. seems like that would confuse the target .. they would not just run at you .. i guess you could say the same for spells ..

but the main point is .. give marksmen the abilty too make arrows .. with scraping of old armor / weapons .. THX

Sorry edited it a bit too clean up my very bad typen ... I tend too type as I think and .. it comes out in thoughts .. not text.

You raise some good points. With crafting in the game this is the sort of thing I hope you can do. I am looking forward to mining and smelting to forge weapens. I'm even looking forward to chopping trees for wood.
I hope we here more about crafting soon.

yes, very much so. Would love to finally be able to make my own arrows.

As a side note, for the woodcutting profession, can you actually chop down trees? could I go out and deforest the whole of skyrim if I wanted to?

I really don't think we'll be cutting whole trees down,it's probably large logs/trees,that we break up in a village or something.
But i could be way wrong about that.
Making your own arrows is a great idea and i welcome that :)
But like the OP one of the things that bugged me in oblivion, was the enemies instantly knew where the arrows came from etc.
Hopefully that will change in skyrim, because AI is better.

I think this will be the case - either way, I'm looking forward to finding out.
The AI was bad in that respect - I never felt good when a boar knew exactly where I was shooting from whereas it could take me a minute to find who was shooting at me. Not good for the old ego to realise a boar is smarter than you :P

lol, especially when some bandit or suchlike started firing arrows at me and I would run in circles trying to find them.

Only the basics out in the field (alchemy, crafting, smithing):
* Alchemy: You only carry mortar and pestle, the rest of the equipment is either too fragile or too heavy (lookup real life calcinator).
* Crafting: Make arrowtips from stone and arrows from shaped stone and wood. No advanced diamond cutting in the field :P
* Smithing: Basic repairs of weapons, like keeping a blade sharp. Broken weapons or advanced repairs to be done at the shop.

And nothing too painful at normal difficulties. I'd prefer different difficulties for different aspects of the game.

I would love to see that. Because being an independent archer and being able to make my own arrows is a dream also being able to hire or buy a smith to put in my home. But one thing i would love is that you can specialize in minerable materials and each has it's own perks like if you kind X mineral it will give you speed perk or damage resistance.
