[REQ] Crap

Post » Sun Dec 27, 2009 7:10 am

When you are building a town that amounts to the size of a city, with the same pile of burn't crap, two pieces of broken furniture and a few broken crates and barrels, it can get a bit 'same, same'.

What I really need to spice up my town is some crap....lots of crap....broken furniture, different piles of garbage, some stains to apply to walls just like the blood decals or hanging crud. In fact I need more crud, loads of crud, crud and crap. Burn't furniture, more broken boxes, broken bottles amd any sort of crap.....

So I am requesting crap, if someone feels inspired to make a resource of crap I would be very grateful and my town will finally look.....like crap. :D

Not a very glamorous job is it? Perhaps that's the same reason I keep finding the same broom, calipers, and paint brush in every crate.

The guy who makes an awesome giant sword is renowned throughout modded Tamriel. The guy that makes some crap is underappreciated if not a pariah.

Have you asked Korana about the garbage pile in Millstone Farm? Its really gross looking. I was quite surprised and delighted by it.

Hmmm. I could always use the modeling practice. I may make a few things or so. :)

-EDIT-

I know you are mainly just doing a lump request, but are there any specific pieces you want/need that I could maybe do first?

I agree crap makers are so underappreciated.:(

For me it is not easy to make a town worse then Bravil with so little crap. I have poo, vomit and pee and don't get me wrong, I am really grateful for those. I even have a toilet full of poo......and yet.........I am not entirely satisfied. I have entire interiors that need some craptastic decor and the squeaky clean furniture and decor I already have just will not cut it. Need some new crap for variety.

Good idea! I will ask.

That would be fantastic! :)

Ha - I jumped into this thread all frown-y, thinking it was someone posting a rant about adding mods to their game and it turned to crap... Ha - good luck, I always enjoy your work, even the crap. :P

I'll do some stains for you. Oh, it could be really fun... What kind of stains are you looking for? I've got a few ideas already.

I see this is going well down the toilet already.

I would "think" textures for this should be reasonably simple.. then again I maybe wrong.

I know you are mainly just doing a lump request, but are there any specific pieces you want/need that I could maybe do first?

1) One of the main things I need is broken furniture. There is the Kvatch broken furniture pieces, the table and the bookcase, but it is all upper class stuff. Some broken pieces of middle class furniture would be great:

* Some chairs that have been smashed.
* A table or two.
* A bookcase.

2) A Bravil interior door that looks like it has been kicked in. All broken, maybe half a door that still swings open when activated. Broken door pieces would be great. Maybe for resource purposes this could be a selection of broken/kicked in doors. Something like this perhaps:

3) The vanilla broken barrels are inadequate. Some thing more like this would be useful:

4) Smashed and broken crockery and bottles:

Maybe smashed planters and vases.

Any thing of this sort would really help out and create the atmosphere I am looking for in my taverns, some quest areas and all around town. :)

I always enjoy your work, even the crap. :P

Thank you!

Thank you! I loved the quality of your stomach and bladder expulsions. I have used them everywhere around town.

I am just gathering some ideas for expansion on the hanging crud and stains on walls. Back in a mo.

Back, ooo just thought of cracks, large cracks...

What about a soot stain, retex of the blood decal.

Not sure if these will work though.

Rust, soot, easy. Cracks, I'll give a try. If I come up with something worthy I'll post screens. I'm also thinking of various food stains.

Hey, I was just thinking about rotten food. There is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5065 if your interested in that sort of thing. No usage listed in the readme, but there is contact information for the author.

Sounds good. Are decals just plains with a texture on them? Never even used them in the CS before haha. I could do some random ones of those too.

Yes, just like the blood decals. The more the merrier! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Here is a sooty sort of stain. I started with something simple to get used to transparency again. It can be changed to another color, like reddish to make a tomato splat or something. I'll work on some more tomorrow evening.

For those of you making wall and floor stains - don't forget the "chunky" stains. I mean, not all stains are pure liquid, ya know. It's also more gross, IMO.

This thread is hilarious!

I smashed up a bunch of bottles...problem is they all need remapped...which means they'll take longer than the hour or two I originally guessed.

mmmmmmmmmmmm chunky :foodndrink:

Sooty Splat

That is very nice!

Ah, cool. Should be fairly easy then. Hardest part will be getting transparency right probably.

Sorry I haven't posted any updates. I actually HAVE done a bit of work, mostly decal related. I'm also working on a few other projects at the same time so my time is stretched between them all (things like tilesets, ice stuff like frozen ponds, waterfalls, etc... and other stuff).
