Crash after the bethesda icon

Post » Tue Sep 23, 2014 9:07 pm

(I apologize for spelling, I'm french, but I write without google translate)

Hi everyone ! I bought skyrim legendary edition 7 days ago, and after played it about 10 minutes, I thinked : I need mods.

So I go to the Nexus mods gallery, I download the mods I want, I install them with NMM, launch skyrim with SKSE, yay, that work =D, I play 3 hours, then I stop, go again on Nexus, find "The Art of Magicka", I install it, launch SKSE, the bethesda icon appear, then the dragon emblem, and... crash.

I uninstall Art of magicka, re-launch SKSE : crash (but why ? I played with the sames mods just 10 minutes before, and all goes right).

I uninstall all the mods, launch SKSE, crash again (start to be annoying)

I uninstall skyrim, re-install it, launch --> crash, I re-uninstall it, look in his folder, there are some files left, I erase them, install skyrim again, launch... no crash ( yeeeeeees T_T) I re-install my mods (but not art of magicka) and start my game every 3 mods installed (65 mods) and when I install dwemer bombs, crash, I uninstall it, same thing with greatbows collection, Heroic dwemer set, and many others mods... I don't know what to do.

I search for help, find that I should use BOSS, LOOT, TES5edit, and others utilities, but I don't know how to use them :/

So I'm here, can't play with my mods, and ask for your help, I hope you can reply soon, thanks =)

short answer: crashes after the logo mean, 99.9% of the time, a missing master. In other words, you have a file installed (a patch, for example) that relies on another file that isn't there.

Start from the beginning. Decide what you want in your playthrough and then STICK TO IT. Don't take things out and add things constantly. Good things rarely come from that, especially when you're new to this. Install the mods you choose, making sure to read their descriptions carefully for incompatibilities, patches or other mods you might need, and so on.

Then run LOOT so they are in the right order. (There's not much to it; just tell it to "sort plugins" and apply the results.)

Depending on the mods you're using, you might also need to create what's called a "bashed patch", but start with the above first. The lack of a based patch isn't going to cause you to crash at the main menu.

I just launched LOOT, but it seems to not recognize skyrim, (only fallout 3 is seen)

I'd recommend clicking on the link below to Gophersvids. And watch his Beginners Guide to Modding playlist. He'll show you how to resolve simple problems with modding your game.

You should watch Gophers Beginners Guide to Modding. As he'll show you how to resolve your issue. It sounds like you need to clean your Skyrim Update, and DLC. I'd highly recommend watching how to do that on Gophers YouTube.

what you describes happens when you got a mod in your load order that requires a master you don't have.

like "requires dawnguard" but you don't have that installed
