CS Crash ate my dialog

I was tweaking a mod the other day and saved it, right before my computer froze. I was closing the CS when the screen locked up and the HDD stopped spinning (well, the light stopped flashing, it's actually solid state).

The next time I loaded the mod, I had a "bad form". I pressed cancel and worked a little more on it, then saved it again. When I tried to load a game, however, I was told a referenced dialog or journal entry was missing. I went in to look and discovered several of the mod's dialog topics were gone and one dialog entry was cut off in mid-sentence and the remainder of the entries for that topic were gone.

Now, I'm not in the least surprised by this weirdness, I've been using Windows long enough to know I'll never understand the causes and effects of crashes, but my question is, since I had a successful save right before the crash, did the CS try to save again on exit? If it did, can I turn this behavior off? I didn't get the usual, "do you want to save the changes to this plug-in?" pop-up, presumably because I had just saved, but the CS was doing something with the mod when the computer crashed, wasn't it?

I have the original archive of the mod I was tweaking and I did have a relatively recent backup, so not much was lost, but I am having to re-create the lost dialog or else lose some changes I don't want to lose. Might there be more to this "bad form" than just the missing dialog? Am I dooming myself by continuing to work with the same file that returned the error?

One more question:

I'm trying to make the same mod Windows Glow compatible, but after I place the "night-time" versions of the *interior* tiles and shut down the CS, the next time I open the file and look in that cell, the tiles are all stacked up in the middle of the cell. Does anyone know why or if they will still be there when the mod is played?
