Crash caused by PositionCell command?

I'm trying to teleport Orvas Dren to a different interior cell with the PositionCell command, using a script attached to a hidden activator in that cell. It works, but as soon as I click on Dren to try and speak to him, the game crashes. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I've read that PositionCell can cause crashes if it's used in dialogue, but that's not the case here.

I think that http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1121891-script-autodestructs-on-positioncell/page__view__findpost__p__16508486 in Kir's recent thread applies. If you haven't been in Orvas' cell yet, his NPC_ object hasn't been initialized yet.

You could try marking him persistent (corpses persist) and see if that fixes your situation.

Ugh. I really don't want to mess around with Dren in the CS unless I have to... maybe I'll just make sure the player has to visit him at an earlier point in the mod. Thanks, anyway.

couldent you copy him as a new id, and have that instance in the area you need him to be, only disabled till a certain journal entry?
