Crash to desktop and ASUS Gamer OSD

Post » Mon Jul 11, 2011 1:08 pm

I just wanted to post this as a possible solution to people who have ASUS graphic cards. If you're trying to run Fallout 3 and it's crashing when you click "New game". Then UNINSTALL ASUS Gamer OSD if you have it installed.

I had tried literally everything else mentioned on this forum and the internet to no avail. Uninstalling ASUS Gamer OSD finally solved my issue with no other modifications at all.

Just thought I'd throw this out there for other people that might be having the same issue.

This is fairly well known around here, people with Asus cards should uninstall Gamer OSD and Smartdoctor in order for the game to work properly.

That's good to know. Mine also started working after I unstalled ASUS Gamer OSD, but I also moved the game from my D:\ to my C:\ drive (SSD) at the same time. It now seems likely that it was the ASUS software that was the culprit.

Can you tell us which processor you have. I'm wondering if the "muti-core CPU" fix is necessary.
