Crash on Launch

Post » Sat Aug 28, 2010 8:51 pm

So I decided I'd play Oblivion over again today. I wanted to remove a lot of the mods I had installed, so I just said I'd do a fresh install. So I uninstalled everything normally and then reinstalled it all. And Oblivion crashes on launch. So I uninstall everything and this time just installed Oblivion, no mods, no mod managers, etc. And it still crashes. I used to be able to play, so what could have changed?

Did you try cleaning the registry? I had a similar problem like this before... I used CCleaner to clean my registry. There is a link on how to properly uninstall and reinstall Oblivion, but I can't really give it since I'm on an Itouch...

Edit: ah, here it is.
Bben's reinstall procedure.

Documents/My Games/Oblivion/Oblivion.INI

Delete that file, then re-launch Oblivion. The file will be regenerated.

Thanks, that did it. Can't believe I didn't think to clear the ini...
