Crash at level 14 level Up. Every time.

A quick question before I start delving deeper. My game has been going fine for quite a while, but suddenly when I reach level 14, pick what I want and hit ok, the game immediately crashes. Basically, it just `stops responding` and I have to Ctrl alt Del out. Doesn`t matter what I do, I cannot get beyond picking skills and beyond levl 14.

I am using Wrye Bash, FO3 Edit. I do not know enough about these programs to figure out how to find this problem.

Any body seen happen before? Is there a particular Mod known for causing this?

But wait no load order - very much unable to diagnose without that.

If not above link I don't know but more info on the kind of crash and load order someone might.

Ok, I heard about something like this and was hoping someone would remind me. Let me check that FWE thing first, then i`ll be back with a Load Order if I don`t fix this.

I had a look at that link, but none of it worked.

Now I`m trying to do a Mod list order through Wrye bash that I can post here, but I can`t figure out the command that shows how to do this. I could just give a list through Mod Manager, but it won`t give a true view of what I have.

Weird for everything to be so smooth then BAM- Stopped like a truck hitting an invisible brick wall!

If not that fix then make sure you have the latest MMM (not available on Nexus) look through the thread.

Then if not that - I'd recommend making a few test saves in an isolated cell of the time just prior to leveling up.

Then I'd test deactivating mods until able to level up.

That was how I found the problem that motivated delemer to make that fix. Not that I understood the problem.

I'd start with deactivating FWE and MMM. This may not give the fix, but if it is those mods then I'd contact delemer. The plan is not to continue playing without those mods but to have info for delemer.

If not them then keep deactivating in chunks of mods (say 5-10 at a time by theme) until you can level. Narrow it down.

It`s not MMM, but it was FWE. Damn... Disabling FWE got everything working. Guess I gotta call this delemer and see what can be done...

Update: I did a bit of twiddling. Put FWE back and now it seems to be working? Will keep testing. Perhaps that fix from your link is working suddenly?

I'd bet it is.

When I applied it (which I think I still have version 1 of it) I had to go back a few saves - I think actually the calculations for leveling up start happening in the background and although a save might load then you level - the calculations are in full swing as soon as the save loads.

Not very technical sounding - but perhaps this fix needs to be on place and working prior to the calculations for leveling occurs.

So go back a few saves - apply the patch - play through.
