Crash on load

Post » Wed Jan 05, 2011 8:51 pm

When I load a savegame, Fallout CTD's. I thought that it might have been a corrupt save, so I loaded a save which wasn't corrupt. This worked, but after entering Megaton for the first time (young save), exiting Megaton, and walking south, Fallout froze. Reloading the game and the autosave (which was made leaving Megaton) made Fallout CTD. Any ideas on this? My load order:

UFP for me it causes nothing but crashes. Also you have no FOIPs installed, go back and look at FWE installer pages and start over. Don’t forget to delete and rebuild you merge patch, I do for every mod added or removed. One more thing, FOOK2 is very unstable as it is (don't get me wrong I love FOOK2) and with FWE installed, its probably not stable at all.

Good luck!!!

Also, you mentioned Autosaves, which makes me wonder if you know how dangerous they are.
Unless you have CASM, autosaving is only good for ruining a character. They are highly unstable, and since they over write instead of delete and make new, they have a much higher chance of corrupting then a normal save.

Thanks for the info :) I do have FOIPs installed, and built my patch from the ground up every time. Also, I did figure out that CRAFT was the reason for the crash on load.

The playtime on that save was about 20 minutes (and the total time on Fallout about two hours), so there's only a little chance of bloating taking place.
