So I've been moseying around the www for the past couple of days looking at every single possible solution to the infamous "crash on save" problem for FO3. Well..I've tried em' all. Tried all the listed solutions below -
1. bUseThreadedAI=1
iNumHWThreads=2
2. Changed compatibility service packs for Fallout3.exe (from Windows XP 3 to Windows XP 2, this actually made it so my game wouldn't even load when i hit "continue")
3. Tried downloading the .dll file and placing it into fallout directory
4. tried blowing myself up in-game and letting it reload to fix corrupted saves (Which interestingly enough this solution has come the closest. It's a temporary fix. I can do this method and once the game has reloaded I can save about up to four or five more times or a certain (undetermined) distance in game, until it reverts back to crashing. )
5. Have all autosave features turned off.
Also, I read that if you open the console and input "Player.advlevel" and it works, then you have no corrupted save game..well this works for me, so I'm really at a loss.
Now I do have scads of mods, yet Fo3Edit, LOOT, and B.O.S.S. cannot detect any conflicts.
I'm just playing this to pass the time till Fallout 4 gets here...but I mean it'd be nice to actually be able to play it..so if anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful
Btw if my mod load order or computer specs are necessary, I'm more than willing to provide, long as this damn game gets fixed haha
