Crash at sewers : IV

EDIT: Wrong forums... it's for the original oblivion

I know this has been resolved before but not for me.

Okay so I recently bought Oblivion GOTY Deluxe on steam because it was 66% off..
Anyways so I start playing get to the part where the king dies and I try to go down the sewers.. It gets done loading and then a memory error pops up and the game crashes..
I tried the editing in the oblivion.ini file that Did not work
I tried lowering/highering the settings and still nothing
I tried Oldblivion but I can't even run that with steam (I use 1.2 OldBlivion) it just pops up a black screen and then a memory error...

This is really annoying And I want to play badly... Please help

That is your problem right there. Unsupported. That's no even a real video card, but a mere onboard video chip. You may be able to force the game to run through a shader downgrade mod called Oldblivion, but it won't be at the best of settings.

The other option is to get a real video card, but you will be rather hampered by that Celeron processor...that is a slow chip overall limiting your choices. Don't want to get an uber powerful video card when your CPU is just going to bottleneck it. If you want an upgrade suggestion for a video card we'll help you, but just how much are you willing to spend????

That is your problem right there. Unsupported. That's no even a real video card, but a mere onboard video chip. You may be able to force the game to run through a shader downgrade mod called Oldblivion, but it won't be at the best of settings.

Check out the forums there and search for your particular chipset and see how others got the game up and running.

The other option is to get a real video card, but you will be rather hampered by that Celeron processor...that is a slow chip overall limiting your choices. Don't want to get an uber powerful video card when your CPU is just going to bottleneck it. If you want an upgrade suggestion for a video card we'll help you, but just how much are you willing to spend????

You only think you have the same exact problem. There can be several reasons why you're crashing. You should open up your OWN thread and post a dxdiag in it so that it can be anolyzed independently from this one to avoid confusion for the other forum members here.

I tried Oldblivion but I can't even run that with steam (I use 1.2 OldBlivion) it just pops up a black screen and then a memory error...

If you tried Oldblivion and still cannot get it to work, then you may want to ask at the official Oldblivion forums, since most people here dont have too much experience with the program. Also Tig's post said, *May* work, its not guaranteed to make the game run. That chipset is just not meant for games, you could place a new dedicated GPU in there......although with that CPU you are limited to what you can place in there, since most modern cards will be bottlenecked by it.

Okay.. I reinstalled oblivion on steam and now when I launch it a black window appears on the top left and it gets a memory error... it never did this before...
