When I do my new game crashes when loading the game, until I installed the patch 1.7.
My pc: 2.5gz quadcore q8300, 2GB DDR3, gtx460 768, w7 Ultimate 32 bit, the game automatically sets the graphics ultra.
I had installed on a laptop vaio, less powerful but with the same OS, and they started the game very well, so I do not think the OS is the problem. I tried to see if they find a solution on the internet but I found nothing. If anyone can help I would be happy. Thanks

Try the Multi-Core Fix:

Find your .ini file in your My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 folder ...it is the configuration settings file named FALLOUT

Open it with notepad and do a CTRL+F to search for the line

bUseThreadedAI=0

.....change it to =1


and below that line add this line

iNumHWThreads=2




If that doesn't help, Please Post a dxdiag:

This would be why, the game will not run on any of the Intel video chipsets, they are too weak to play the game. And since that is a laptop, its unable to be upgraded. You should always make sure to check the system requirements before buying a game. (Also in the future, its best to make a new thread instead of "thread-jacking" an existing one)

I tried the changes but the same crashes. I also run in compatibility mode, and I set XP SP3. The game starts but crashes every 10 minutes. I have put the dx:

Asus video card? Do you have their GamerOSD or Smartdoctor utilities installed? If so get rid of them as they interfere with the game.

I have not installed ASUS SmartDoctor, the program I have is more like PC Probe 2, which controls temperature and fan speed, I have to remove that? I also EPU-4 Engine, but that serves to regulate the use of procesor I do not think I have to remove it.

I doubt those programs will affect the game. One thing I just noticed is your dxdiag picking up multiple audio devices. You have an Asus Xonar soundcard, yet your onboard Realtek audio still shows itself as enabled. Get to disabling the onboard audio through your motherboard BIOS. Bethesda games do get iffy if it can't determine which sound device to use.

We have 2 sound devices, but the default is to Xonar, the other just to use the microphone. I noticed however that after making the changes to the file I know the game crashes less often, perhaps I think the problem is the OS, in this column I have a PC with w7 build different from the PC, maybe this "model" has some system files are not compatible or unstable with some games / programs. At least now I can play with more serenity, within the first spent more time doing ctrl + alt + del to play.
