Crashes after 10-15 mins black screen, buzzing noise and onl : Fallout: New Vegas

Bought Fallout NV ultimate addition from steam.
The game crashes after 10 to 15 mins of game play. The screen goes black and the sound locks into a buzzing noise. CTRL ALT DEL has no effect only a power off has any effect.

PC =
WIN 7 64 bit.
acer predator G3610
8GB ram
intel core i7-2600 @ 3.40GHz
Nvidia GT545 (1.5 Gb) - latest driver 295.73
Realtec HD audio - latest driver R267 (6.0.1.6526)

No overclocking at all.
Pc only a month old.

I've spent about 6 hours searching and trying vartious fixes and am now fed up.

What I've tried (all of which have had no effect).

multithread and AI fixes into the ini files (steam and my games folders), now reverted to original.
Reinstall latest sound vid drivers.
XP SP 3 compat mode NV and launcher.
Reduce sound to 16bit 44khz.
Reduced graphics to medium.
Played windowed (which was rubbish and still crashed)
Alternate direct input dll in game directory. (now removed)
Alternate dx3d9 dll (web suggested this was no longer required after patch 1.2) now removed.
CPU temp log shows absolute worst case of 45 deg C (which seems pretty low to me).
Can't find a free program to log the GPU temp (suggetions welcome)
Various combinbations of the above.

My dxdiag file as below (32bit version - let me know if the 64 bit is required)
Very sorry if I've missed something obvious but I've spent ages looking around and tried as many fixes as I could see.
Any other ideas I can try?

I see ffdshow installed. It can cause issues with certain installations. Try uninstalling it or try adding fallout3.exe to FFDShow audio and video decoders exceptions list.

Thanks for responding jasper1979.
Still no change.

I had already tried the ffdshow exception list (but forgot to put it on my list).
I uninstalled ffdshow and ffdshow 64 bit.
Still crashes unfortunately.

I also tried increasing the number of hardware threads up to 8.
Using a custom d3d9.dll generated from a link in another forum www neoseeker com/forums/43594/t1591200-fallout-new-vegas-pc-tweak-guide .
These seemed to make the game run smoother but still crashes.

For GPU temps I use speedfan. What other games do you play? Are tey stable?

2) Right click on Fallout: New Vegas
3) Hit Properties
4) Click the "Local Files" tab
5) Click on "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"

GPU FAN not running. Back to the shop I go. This will teach me not to build my own.

I've previously verified the game cache (and defragged).
First verify found 2 files that required downloading.
Since then it always find one file, but info on the web seems to suggest this is common.

The clean boot option and this made no difference - I left all MS services running; it wouldn't let me stop the antivirus service but I disabled the scanning through the task bar icon.

i've now installed Speed fan, looks like a useful program. At the desktop, I'm getting 53 C for the GPU temp. (30 C for CPUs).
During gameplay looks like the CPUs stays pretty cool 30 - 35 but the GPU temp goes up to 100 C.
Nvidia website quotes the card max temp as 100C, and says the card will shut the system down if the driver can't control the temp by throttling peformance.
This is obviously the culprit.

With the past cards I've had the fan would be going crazy at this point but I can't hear anything on this one.
