» Tue Mar 15, 2011 2:08 am ---I have the D2D version Downloaded before GOTY came out ...... ive already played the game on this PC almost to very end before a virus caused me to wipe my hard drive .
---I re-installed the game to start again and it runs fine thru intro game .....but at start of getting to Overseer's office mission, when you leave your apartment and encounter the first security officer...it always crashes to desktop. ive uninstalled and re-installed....installed each patch 1 by 1 ...searched these forums for hours to try to find anyone with same problem , tried various fixes ive seen listed here.
--It is a shame , cause the first time i played , i virtualy had no problems at all, very rarely crashed to desk-top and that was it ...ive had 3 different vid cards , originlay i played it on a 9600GT...then that broke and the game never worked for my 8500 GT, now i have a 9800GT and it still doesnt work ...
--Ive tried the codecs Chromie posted, which seem a little invasive , change your default webpage on browser and want to install all kinds of stuff....ive updated my sound and video drivers.....here is a bit of my DXDiag , if anyone in the know needs to see more i can post rest of it ...thanks if anyone can help
