Crashes when I load my game..

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 11:47 am

Hey guys, have a question for ya.

I played Morrowind today for a couple hours and saved my game before I fought a bigass orc. So.. I died. Then I reloaded and it crashes. I try reloading ANY of my games (quicksave, autosave, regular save) and it loads, I see the orc, then it crashes back to the desktop. I downloaded Wyre Mash and MLOX or whatever it's called. It fixed my load order then I tried to repair my save but it said there were no problems.

It's ran fine until now but I can't friggin load my game now. :(
Any ideas guys?

EDIT - I tried everything in the pinned topics but noting has worked yet.
This happened after I installed the Blight Bounties, the one mod that makes people react to your nudity better, and that one Suran's Archery shop mod. But I tried disabling them and even deleted the esp files and it still won't work.

I guess I should just reinstall, but if I copy my save file is it going to work with my reinstall, or will it be looking for those mods that I didn't use?

Here's how I installed my game (if that matters..)

Installed Morrowind (ran as admin to avoid snowflake error or whatever)
Installed Tribunal, then Bloodmoon.

I patched Bloodmoon and Tribunal because the patch site said not to install the Morrowind patches if you've already installed the expansions.
I installed MCP and then I installed the 4GB patch.

Then I added a bunch of mods and everything worked fine until those last 3 addons, now I can't load anything even if I disable them.

Here's my computer, but I don't know if it matters since it ran the game fine up until last night:

Windows 7 64bit
4gb ram
2.2 dual core processor
Crappy intel integrated GPU (again, shouldn't matter cause I've ran it for hours on end with no problems until all of a sudden.)

Thanks for any help.

What does your Warning.txt say immediately following the crash?
Please post your Load Order from Wrye Mash.

Also, reloading a Save after dying is not a good idea. Your game will often crash from that, it happens to us all.
It is best to always Exit Morrowind when you die.

If Morrowind creates a "Restore" Save file after the crash, don't use that file, they seem to be unstable in most cases.

That one orc chick in Suran with the glass/orcish armor.

Here's what warnings.txt says..
One of the files that "MixedSignposts.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information.

I tried disabling all my mods and loading but then I just got 100 error messages I had to click OK on and that was just super annoying. And I'm pretty sure it crashed anyway once I got done clicking.

How do I copy my load order?
I couldn't figure out how to do it in Wyre Mash but here it is from mlox..

So I talked to someone and they told me Morrowind has problems loading your game if your save is outside. So I made a new game (I wasn't THAT far) and saved inside and it loaded once just fine, but now it's doing it again. I can make new games but all my save files don't work. I'm just gonna reinstall I guess.

have you been running morrowind as admin prior to saving? If you don't run morrowind as admin prior to saving/loading it would cause problems.

I ran it as Admin when I installed it but I don't do it when I play it. I reinstalled my game and started saving only while inside of a building or cave etc and now it's working fine. Occasionally it doesn't wanna work but it's rare now.
