So, I decided to "reset" the Win 8 beta after getting some weird issues (a lot of stuff on metro wasn't working) thinking it would just redo the windows directory. Well, it screwed up basically everything, uninstalled a bunch of things, moved a LOT of programs around and it's not much better then a reformat.

So, beware of that.

Anyway, Oblivion is crashing again. This is a fresh install because the working one before was complaining about it not existing due to the "reset" resetting the registry along with everything else and the crashes are recurring when I try to name my character.

OBSE plugins are the same as in my numerous other threads, except I haven't installed OBGE yet after I nuked my old install. I should mention that one thing I did differently this time around was that I zipped up all my clean ESP's from my previous install and have been using those. I have ZERO idea if that could be doing anything but with Oblivion anything is possible I guess.

How many of these have I made so far? I'm sorry to keep coming back and pestering everyone with the same problems but good god this game is the most fickle thing I've ever experienced in life.

in retrospect, I prolly should have made the title more detailed. If any mods read this, could they change the title to "Crashing at Chargen"?
