Ok so Yesterday the game was working fine, but today it just stopped working. When I load the game up like 10 seconds into the loading it force closes. I restarted my tablet, but that didn't seem to fix it. I was just getting on to buy some lunchboxes, but nope I guess I'm not. I have an Android Nexus 7 tablet. Can you please fix this or something.

You're not the only one, Krafterz. I too am having this problem, after I very recently purchased 5 Mr. Handys. I read on Forbes1 that this bug occurs when one's phone crashes during gameplay. I have yet to find a fix, and while I am still looking (will post here if found), I do not expect to find any good news on the matter.

The thing is the game didn't crash on me. I was playing my game and I closed it before I went to bed, when I wake up and try to play it, this bug just starts. I can't find a solution yet, I just really want to play the game

It's likely that my Jericho died in the wastes between when I left my game and when I tried to log back in to it. He'd been out there quite some time, sent out with good gear and maybe he'd had some stats raised, but I'm not sure. Do you think you had any special dwellers die in the wastes? By special dwellers, I mean dwellers who show up in the dwellers section of the info section (it contains Weapons, Outfits, and Dwellers, with a description of each).

Also, is your save file 0kb or not? Mine is 450 kb. You can find your save file at /storage/sdcard/android/data/com.gamesas.falloutshelter/files/

Your save files are called Vault#.sav, where # is 1, 2, or 3.

From now on, I'm going to be backing up my vaults.

I'm also looking around online for a vault save file editor to see if I can open up my vault for editting and somehow hunt down the corruption and cap it in the noggin. Twice. With a fat man. Not the Fat Man weapon mind you, but a fat man. Gonna just pick him up and beat the corrupted part into submission!

Oh yeah I had a couple guys out that are probably dead by now. I see Vault1.sav so does that mean it's still there or how do I check to see the data. Also lol go gettem with the fat man lol

Ok so I tried emailing my save file to myself and it says can't attach an empty file, so I guess my data is gone. If I can't get it back somehow I'm demanding a refund and I'm done playing the game. (Still tell me how to check the kb or whatever.

Not sure if this is going to be helpful to someone: I think that if you always close the game from the main menu (and not while in the vault), this bug doesn't occur. For a week I've been losing all my vaults every 30-40 hours (crashing at loading screen and no backup files available) but since I'm doing this I've been able to play the same vault for days, which is a miracle.

For me is the same, the bethesda must fix this bug in the next update !

Yeah and they need this update now because people including me are pissed off at them

I got the game yesterday (7th of sept), version 1.1. For me it's the same it crashes during/after loading screen after the introduction slides.

My phone is a Vodafone Smart 4 mini. I'm running Jelly Bean (v4.2.2).

Is this the same bug everyone is complaining about, or is my phone just took weak for the app, and shouldn't bother with it at all?

The game has been crashing from time to time on me but it always picked up where it stopped. I was in the middle of my game when it crashed again but this time I only got so far as the opening screen and it kept returning to my android phone's home screen. This is my second vault and I already spent money for lunchboxes and mr. handy. I hope they figure this out soon because I really like the game and I don't want to lose my new vault.

Samething happened to me after I bought the lunch boxes. A few other people said theirs started shutting down after they bought them as well. Forums instead of actual support? Not liking this.

LG G3 owner. Same problem. At this point I'm just keeping a close eye on the forum for updates and fixes. Sparing myself the disappointment from starting a new game until I know I will be able to play it until the end. About to cycle through my collection of no-contract kitkats to find an android device impervious to the bug.

I have had the same issue on my moto g and I'm hopping they figure out something soon. It was just a few days after I purchased 5 lunchboxes and 5 Mr Handys. It just would not get passed that initial loading screen. I couldn't even get to select my vault. I've tried just about everything. I wish this game has allowed cloud saving from the get go. Or at least allow your purchases to carry over in situations like this. I'm out 8 bucks and hours of my time.

I haven't spent money on the game but I've been playing since a week after the release of it. my game crashed a time or two but I figured it was what ever I easily got back on all was well. then right before it crashed for the last time I spent a ton of caps reviving dwellers from the waste land it crashed and I opened it again they were all dead AGAIN and I had to spend more caps reviving them. after this my game crashed for the last time before bed and now for over a week I can't open the game. I am one sad panda I'm going to try what nonamemcgee said.

dumb question I know but I have been like everyone else working so hard and do t want to lose my vaults :"( aaa I just don't know I'm at a lose with this one I was just about to buy some stuff to happy I didn't or I would be livid

I have the same problem. Before the end of the shelter uploading, crash the game. I only have 50 residents and 22 rooms. I bought for € 20 Lunchboxes.

Same issue. Everything worked fine yesterday but today, as soon as the game gets to the part where it usually connects to Google Play Services, it crashes instead. I have wiped the game cache as well as the device and dalvik caches from the recovery menu. There are no data logs for today's date but I backed up the entire data file. I'm still scared to uninstall because I've spent a lot of money. Even if I restarted, there's no guarantee the problem won't happen again. I'm going to attempt to email development (lol) and I'm going to try disabling Google Play services, deleting the game cache again and then rebooting. I'll repost if anything new happens. :-/

Crashes for me too... Hoping it gets fixed soon, because I spent a bit o cash during this past weekend... Now I cannot get in at all. Don't want to uninstall\reinstall because I fear all my purchases will be lost

I'm experiencing the same bug. It started 3 days ago after closing the game as I always do (through androids close function). I open the game and it does not make it to the main menu before crashing.


Have tried: rebooting the phone, force stopping the app and persistantly trying to start the game.


Update: just checked my saved data and Vault 2 is 0 Bytes... Excuse me while I down myself in ice cream! I had about 20 levels of mostly upgraded rooms and 100+ dwellers and a constant 80% happiness rate.

I have Samsung S4 Active. I was playing before, had bought 2 of the large lunch box kits and 2 of the 5pk Mr.Handy. I had close to 200 dwellers and 14 levels full of fully upgraded rooms. It was glitching on the open screen, and then my vault disappeared. Sent msg to Bethesda with no response. Reinstalled the game, bought the same packs, and was currently almost back where I was before, but with less dwellers. And now it is glitching while opening again, right after the Bethesda logo screen. PLEASE LISTEN AND HELP US, BETHESDA!!!

The only solution I see for now, is to becap you saves every day =(

Crashing like mad won't even load completely.


I've spent a lot of money on this game, not to mention time. I've gotten up to 130-140 dwellers and now and can't even access it. I hope my dwellers haven't died. Bethesda please fix as I am a big fan of the franchise and this has become a great disappointment. Would like to get refund if possible on all purchases associated with Fallout Shelter.


Does anyone know how to find previous vault if I uninstall and reinstall

Ditto on my note 4, decent sized vault too,120 dwellers gone. Already requested a refund from Google since purchases are lost due to app fault. Will see 8f in can get it back. If not, no shelter just fallout 4 for me.

I play on a PC. When my vault had more than 100 dwellers (after I spent $), it quit loading..... I wish there were an answer to this problem. Really enjoyed this game but am frustrated I cannot play on my PC or on my Ipad Mini.
