Crashing - possible load order fault?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:27 am

Hiya, hoping someone out there can help.

I've just installed RH Ironsights and WMK and have been getting crashes - and I'm wondering if its my load order. I -think- I have everything right, I've followed readme's etc but it could still be user error. It usually is, isn't it?

Did you update/re-create your merged patch? You'll need to do that if you change the load-order around.

I would try de-conflicting the load order via Fo3Edit and/or FOMM - could be an ironsights issue.

Ah, you know all I've been doing is creating the merged patch. After your post, I had a look further into FO3Edit. I didn't realise you had to do a Master Update. So I did that and all is well... so far.

Interestingly enough, last night I removed the merged patch and played trouble free for a couple of hours. I wonder if just creating a merged patch and not doing the master update was the problem?

Anyway, it seems to be ok now.. or as stable as Fallout 3 has ever been! Thank you :foodndrink:

Not adding a merged patch won't generally cause crashed or instability. It's just that without it, some of your mods's content won't show up the way it is intended. Master Update does help with stability.
