Crashing as soon as I engage enemies in a firefight

Post » Fri Sep 24, 2010 10:16 pm

ok. sersiously i just want to finish this game FFS. Can somebody tell me how to fix this problem? It keeps crashing on me. all drivers are current. I have all options disabled in options and the graphics are at a minimum and it KEEP{S happening.

I think you guys need to hire some better beta testers to be honest, Show me where to apply, I'm serious - I've been a gamer for 25 years now and it's frustrating when you see games just get buggier and buggier every year.

I'm not going to "hire" anyone in here. If you would open your eyes to find out where you are, this is Gamers in here, not any gamesas Tech. We are in here asking one another for suggestions while waiting on the real support to develop some real answers. We have some workarounds, that's about it. If you want to connect with Bethesdda, go to the correct support site.

ALSO, by creating at least two, if not three, messages, all about game crashing, you are spamming this forum:

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1133799-crashing-to-desktop/page__gopid__16603001&#entry16603001

it's crashing almost everytime i engage an enemy.

Intel i5-750
8gig ram
win 7 x64
geforce 8800gt latest drivers.

Well, a moderator chose to eliminate the other one of the same nature because it had only one reply.

You don't know that. A huge percentage of game buyers with Windows 7 64 bit and nVIDIA Geforce video graphics are crashing, freezing, running badly, you name it. It seems as though the only guarantee is running Windows XP with a Mainline or Lesser Radeon card, and in the Dupe, I found this:

"
Intel i5-750
8gig ram
win 7 x64
geforce 8800gt
".

(EDIT: as it turns out, this is pretty much just a duplicate of the message from six hours previously, and is potentially going to be locked because of that. Re-Edit later: apparently since this one had several comments added to it, it was the original version that's been locked.)

Just as before, you only need a single thread to come back to about the game crashing. This one. Each ytopic page has the option at the bottom to call up all your own topics, or all your replies, and there are other options there as well.

yeah i couldnt find my old topic actually sorry about that, but this forum is not exactly very intuitively designed. it should have your latest posts/topics easily accessible instead of searching for an hour to find them. posted topics should automatically be "watched" in my opinion, oh well. anywas.

how does my computer need to be upgraded? are i5 - 750's already outdated? and 8gb ram isn't enough now? sorry i dont know. I've been out of the loop for what is "good" as a system. all i care about is that i can work smoothly on it (graphics and audio production) and that games run smooth (which they do (about 65 hours into gametime and no problems in any other game but this. even fallout 3 worked really well)

my mobo is an asus maximus III gene.

also my mention about hiring beta testers was more to bethesda and not the random folk here. as i understood this was an OFFICIAL forum. thus the developers would be visiting. it is under the domain www.gamesas.com after all.

EDIT TO ADD DXDIAG INFO BELOW

http://www.evolucianmusic.com/dxdiag.txt

here is my latest post on the re-topic that ill post here instead:

I reinstalled fallout new vegas because it kept crashing and deleted all files after install. but it's STILL crashing.

It says "Fallout New Vegas has stopped responding" after crashing. It happens when I'm battling enemies.

Ive tried to "verify integrity of cache" and it still says "1 file failed to validate and will be reaquired" but then if i check afain after it says "steam has finished updating fallout new vegas" I try to verify again and it says the same thing. and still crashes!

any ideas?"

Everybody seems to think that this issue only happens with a nVidia graphics card. Well I have this very issue when engaging enemies either through VATS or just manually shooting.
My setup is:
Mobo: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 955 3.2GHz
Memory: Corsair XMS 3 4GB 9-9-9-24CL
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD4870 x2 2GB
Power: Corsair 750W
OS: Windows 7 x64

I havent heard anything and I dont know if bethesda have recognised this problem. Amy tips for me on how to solve this?

If either one of you allowed an Asus driver disk to also install any additional programs, you need to get rid of those. Not just render them inactive; uninstall the silly things. One of them, named Gamer OSD, is a constant problem in many games, this one included.

Wait a minute. Why would you say Gamer OSD is a problem?
What is it with this program thats causing problems? Do I only need to delete this or do I have to delete
every feature that came with the MB?

The best troubleshooting tool that Windows gives you is the Clean Boot procedure, following the tutorial page for your version at the Microsoft site. Gamer OSD is the main one indicted, although some game players have had problems with one or two others in Asus' stable of add-on software.

You have some Creative Stuff installed. Are you using alchemy? If so try turning it off.
