This is on an iPad mini and especially with the new update and even before, as soon as I go onto the game, it crashes. Definitely needs to be fixed

I agree. I have tried everything. Leaving the phone alone while it loads face, tapping right before it crashed, plugging my phone up, restarting it. Nothing works consistently! But that still needs to get on this.
