Crashing upon startup

Okay, so I recently assembled a custom pc and installed Steam. I bought Fallout 3 GOTY Edition, installed it, and tried to play it. The first couple of times I ran it, I got to the main menu screen, selected New Game, and it crashed. After a few days, I tried again, but I couldn't get to the main menu without it crashing. I could only get to the graphics settings menu.

Here are my relevant system specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12, RAID 1 with same drive model
Asus P8Z68 deluxe/gen 3 mother board
Asus GTX 570
16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
Corsair HX750W PSU

I tried rebooting, switching all the graphics options to the lowest settings, downgrading my GPU driver from 290.53 beta to 285.62 stable, and doing a clean boot, but nothing worked. I'm just about ready to call bethesda and demand a refund, unless I can get help here. Thanks in advance!

You have an Asus video card? Did you try uninstalling Gamer OSD and Smartdoctor?

No, but I'll do that now and report back with the results.

I had the exact same problem with my old PC.
Sorry if I cannot offer advice, but I'm pretty sure the problem is ASUS or Windows 7.
