Crazies

While we are on the subject of cannibalism, a mad man with a straight razor living with a lady serving strange meat pies would be a fun reference!

They're not going to break into song every two minutes though, are they?

Right, I'm confusing them then, hehe. Those are some similar settlements.

Sure, I was even thinking androids themselves worshipping technology, considering themselves purer than organics and deciding to enslave them or something.

Then I would like to see some dilapidated barbers out in the middle of nowhere with a mysterious trap door under the seat. Which, when you manage to pick the lock or steal the key to, has several bodies at the bottom with slit throats.

Would be even better if they could actually change the appearance of your hair and/or facial hair! Just make sure to have your companion with you so he doesn't try anything.

Well as an advlt, reading up on it as far as health benefits go I'd say it's mostly for cleanliness purposes for non-religious families.
Read comments of un-cut advlts and they say it makes for better "Hibidi-Dibidi" sessions because of increased Glans sensitivity.

They don't want to circumcize females? Sounds like they need to check their privilege.

Remember that whole weird cult storyline from Fallout 3's Point Lookout DLC? It would be cool to see something connected to that in Fallout 4 as a minor faction or questline

Oh yeah that would be cool toom forgot about them. I was actually referring to the other crazy cult in point lookout, the Ug-Qualtoth cult that people were mentioning farther up in this thread

Oh ok, gotcha. The swamp folk. Basically like mutated hillbilly types (ala wrong turn). If an Ug Qualtoth cult is in F4, I would like them to be humans that look a bit like frogs or fish (bulging eyes, greenish skin, small almost non existent noses).

Kinda but more obviously human. The fish/frog characteristics would be unnoticeable at a distance but when face to face with one you'd notice, and be repulsed.

I could see a cult in FO4 around Baseball. Perhaps members wear sacred hats/ gloves.

Fallout has always gone to some lengths to originally distance itself from religon and even ridicule our world versions (Obviously the Scientology = Hubologists). THen in FO3 they have a religous group in Rivet City, the mention of religous place via Point Lookout and Catholicism.

F:NV certain had religous elements throughout and Honest Hearts the greatest concentration to date.

The Brotherhood of Steel is considered a cult? I thought it was more of a post-world government similar to the NCR.

No , I dont consider them a cult. They dont worship technology. If you want to go down the path of advanced weaponary being treated as religous, then you go the Games Workshop Warhammer 40K path where Humanity has actually lost the ability to produce NEW technology, and instead feeds on the carcass of a technology golden age. Weapons are given names and are occasionally repaired/ maintained.. but never built anew. Their religon is worshipping essentially a dead human bolted into a life support chair.

THe Brotherhood of Steel are essentially an organisation people who preserve the knowledge humanity had... they just tend to concentrate on tech that is used to kill.

i think a lot of people confused them with a Cult, but they arnt.

Deathclaw worshippers.

You stumble upon a small cave while avoiding the rad storm.

In this cave you find some friendly people and invite you to stay for dinner while the storm passes but only to find out you been drugged in put in the pen with a Deathclaw for sacrifice.

Are there any strange religous (real) groups based outta Boston? If so, I definetly think we could see somethings based on that.

Strange is a relative term, but if you go back far enough you get the Puritans of the kind in "The Crucible". Though that wasn't Boston, it was Massachusetts.

I like the cults that, on the outside seem to be good people doing good things.. and then it turns out that they really are good people doing good things. By now, I'm so jaded that I suspect ulterior motives and creepiness behind every faction.
