Crazies

I'm not particularly well versed in Fallout lore, but I am quite the fan of crazy, fundamentalist cult-like factions. What kind do you expect/hope will make an appearance in the game?

I imagine there is no real shortage of them in Fallout lore.

I would like to see a secret cult devoted to Ug Qualtoth hidden away somewhere in the coastal area of The Commonwealth. Also I expect we will see more from the Church of Atom, perhaps in the form of a wandering "missionary".

well pretty much there has been atleast one in every fallout

fallout- children of the cathedral, brotherhood of steel

fallout 2- hubologists, brotherhood of steel

fallout 3- children of the atom, botherhood of steel

new vegas- legion, brotherhood of steel, repcon ghouls

I probably missed some but you can see there are alot. The brotherhood is guaranteed for fallout 4 at least.

Cannibal cults are always a favorite of mine.

Who/what's that?

Did someone say cult?

"Each of us shall give birth to a billion stars formed from the mass of our wretched and filthy bodies."

Yeah, probably, the last two games had them.

Nice. I'd like to see them flesh out a cult and mythology around that for sure.

Come to think of it, some kind of android/robotic cult would actually make a heck of a lot of sense in this particular setting.

Yes, maybe have a seaside town with creepy looking locals who go to some forsaken grotto and worship an obelisk similar to the one in the Dunwich Building. If they wanted to make a whole quest to go with it, they could do a story that the giant creature lay in a millennia long sleep deep within said cave and the geologic upheaval caused by the Great War caused cave ins to seal the cave up. After the Great War, the creature woke up and having found itself entombed in the cave is using mind control to get the population of the seaside village to work to free it from its prison. Your task would be to discover the plot and stop them before it's too late.

Wasn't there a creepy community of cannibals in Fallout 3 as well?

It would be interesting to see what will show up in this game.

Yep. Andale.

*edit* I misspelled it as Anandale when it was actually Andale. My bad!

It was kinda stupid that it was so empty....... (no quests, side missions, intressting objects you want to explore)

I think it was a wasted oppurtunity

I'd like to see a real industrialized cannibal community though, sort of like the one from season 5 of The Walking Dead. I want to see rooms full of lined up bodies, I want to see disconcerting machinery caked in blood and human remains. I'd also like the option to join them and hunt/farm humans for them or at least sit down to dinner with them, not that I'd do so, hehe. Maybe their belief systems revolve around consuming flesh allowing them to transcend being human and become closer to god(s) or something along those lines.

Yeah it was super obscure. Nothing in the world ever sent you there besides random exploration.

Like that Little Lamplight quest, eh ;). Good reasons (or reasons, at least) for it being unmarked, I imagine, as there was with the Little Lamplight one, hehe.

In another thread I mentioned the film "Ravenous". In this movie eating humans allowed you to consume their essence, giving you powerful regenerative effects but came with severe withdrawal symptoms. I thought of fallout while watching it, though it is set in the old west.
