Craziest Encounters!

Talk about your weirdest or funniest moments in Oblivion! I'll get the ball rolling with this story:

My weirdest Oblivion moment was when after making my character and walking out of the Tutorial Area I imagined that every NPC was there to help me out with getting to Weynon. However I did not realise that there was compass and also when I went to the Imperial City I thought that items with a red hand were free stuff so I incurred a 500 gold bounty and resisted arrest. I then ran away for half an hour until somehow I managed to reach Weynon but then I was attacked by a Highwayman who then smashed my face open with a huge mallet. I didn't play for a week after that.

Every so often, I would have to clean up my inventory. Well, it so happens that one of these times, I had accumulated a large amount of bread loaves, and, without checking how many, dropped them all at once. I am not sure how many there were, but an endless stream of bread to spontaneously appear in fron of me, making the game lag, and eventually crash. I researched it later, and found out what had happened. I had selected a number of magic scrolls, forgot to hit 'Shift', making me equip them, and then dropped the bread, causing the bread-attack to begin.

Here is a link to a vid where someone did the same thing, but on purpose.

Last week I was walking down the road and saw some dead bandits that I did not kill. A little more down the road I saw a dead mage. Never found out who did the deed. Last night I saw some wild horses. I've been playing this game for 5 years and never saw that before.

Apart from my battle with an inmortal entity described http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1182833-funny-adventure-stories/page__st__20__p__17702113#entry17702113, my weirdest encounter was when I fought 3 balrogs at the same time (Gods' bless FCOM...even with overpowered equipment, I really had a hard time finishing them off).

That's very strange indeed. Today was the first day that I saw wild horses as well. They were south of the Imperial City, near Fort Homestead. A wild boar chased them until I killed it.

I don't know, they ran away but I'll try to find them again.

EDIT: So we can't... Too bad. But it's interesting that one of them was killed by the boar and its name was Imperial Legion Horse. But one of the fleeing ones was a Chestnut.

The bandits and mages could have been killed by the Imperial Watch/Legion/Foresters.

Wild horses can be found between Fort Alessia and Fort Homestead. You cannot ride them, though. This is ok with me though, as I prefer to ride the UNICORN!!! Woot:)

My funniest moment lately was on my Khajiit assassin while I was out exploring the world north of Chorrol as I remember. I came across a cave set behind a waterfall near a pond, which had an assassin character guarding outside. After launching a arrow at her and only taking away a little life, she came charging after me and destroyed my only 3 weapons at hand with a few casts of a spell, then proceeded to paralyze me every minute or so and melee me to death. We had a boxing match where I would be leaping through the air to avoid her paralyze spell for about 5 minutes before she finally killed me, I just had to reload and give it a second shot and finally managed to kill her. That was one battle I enjoyed very much.

Not exactly an encounter, but....

I was doing the Paranoia quest, and when Glarthir goes on his little spree, he went to my house, not his, grabbed Shadowrend(Battleaxe form) and proceded to murder 4 guards, and two people on his hitlist. I'm scared of him.

Wild horses? :o I've never seen that! Good find.

Wild horses can be found between Fort Alessia and Fort Homestead, near the southwestern shore of Lake Rumare. The small lowland field directly north of Alessia is the most frequent spot. Four to six wild horses exist, which will be a random combination of Wild Bay Horses, Wild Chestnut Horses, and Wild Paint Horses. It is difficult to approach the horses, but even if you can get near one of the wild horses it is impossible to ride them.

Onto my uninteresting story: The Adoring Fan managed to kill me. I thought he never attacked?

I had to save the wild horses. They were all bunched up on the shore south of Fort Alessia, trying to run into the water, surrounded by a veritable army of mudcrabs. The horses continued to try to run south, until I killed the last mudcrab, then they instantly all ran North.
One weird thing I had, in Fort Sutch, there was an Orc sleeping on the big bed, so I went out of character, and dropped into sneak, thinking an easy kill would ensue. I stabbed the Orc with my shortsword, whereupon she stood up, and split into 3, an Orc and what looked like a Nord and an Imperial. Took me a while to get over the surprise and come out of sneak. Must have been all three sleeping in the bed, but the game rendered them as one. The weird thing was, as they got up, there were three torsos, rising one after the other, but one set of legs for a moment.

I found a Gang that had a Hole in the Wall one time.

So Cador was busy assaulting this Marauder stronghold inside an old fort ( i cant remember the name. I just found it as I was taking him North from Bravil to the Imperial City I think). I ran full speed down a corridor and tried to bend around a turn but accidentally clipped a wall... except he didnt clip the wall and instead went right on through it.. into this weird grey space within the walls... there was a bit of floor too but Cador was running fast and couldnt stop in time. He ended up falling down, down dooowwn into a grey pit of nothingness. :ahhh:

At first I was shocked.. and then annoyed that such a weird glitch had just canceled the last 2-3 hours of dungeon diving ... until he suddenly (apparently) hit the bottom.. which was a magic portal back to outside the wall... But on the other side of the corridor!!

After saving I decided this warranted further investigation and spent quite a bit of time jumping into and out of that hole :poke: ... Within the wall was a four-sided space... And patches of land around the edges. I made Cador jump between them and fall into different parts of the hole... Realizing that different sections spat me out at different locations!! All nearby that same funky, intangible wall though. Was kinda hoping to pop out in a random spot somewhere in the wilderness of Cyrodil. Finally a nearby Marauder noticed the activity and attacked. That was when I realized that Cador was down to 25% health!! Each jump must have been draining a bit of HP!! Cador had to flee in order to recover his health before facing the marauder. That was the weirdest thing Ive discovered lately. :D

I'd have to say one of the craziest moment's I have ever seen would be when I teleported myself and Umbra (the one from the mod, Mighty Umbra) to Bruma Castle. There were so many guards there, but Umbra put up a good fight and killed several guards.

But that's not the funniest part. The best part was when the guards finally killed Umbra, they started killing each other. Random guards just started randomly attacking one another, even the Countess was attacked. Another funny bit was that some guards were being attacked, but they just ignored them and went to their beds. It was Insane! I'm not sure what caused the AI glitch, but I wish I could have recorded it.

Unfortunately I have not been able to replicate this

My funniest moment was during the siege of Kvatch when my character died. Well we all know that the camera only lingers on the body for mere seconds before the game ends so Martin must have seen an opportunity and seized on it fast, because the last thing I saw was Martin looting my poor dead character's corpse!

Trying to close an oblivion gate: After some point in the game I usually stop trying to kill every daedra and just sneak around the plane to grab items or ingredients.
In one of the side towers I saw a storm atronarch standing ontop of one of them spiky lifts on the bottom floor, slowly killing him. Since he didnt seem to bother to move away from the spikes, I took my time to watch him die slowly. After he died, I went to get his salts... when suddenly I wild dremora appeared with a loud yell out of nowhere. I freaked out, totally losing control of my mouse. After a few seconds of confusion I realized that the dremora must have tripped over at the top level of the tower, falling all the way right onto my head and instantly dieing from the fall and the spikes.
Poor Mehrunes... the dremora trade unions surely won't be happy with such hazardous working enviroments. Or does the DB also have business in the planes of Oblivion leading to such unlucky accidents?

One day I was crossing the bridge at Fort Alessia and saw something strange out in Lake Rumare. It looked like someone on horseback swimming across the lake. I dove in to take a closer look, and sure enough, it was an Imperial Legion rider. How on Nirn he ever decided to go swimming with Mr. Ed I have no idea. He even paused several times to dismount, swim over to mudcrabs, and kill them. Then he would go back to his horse and mount up again (still in the water mind you), and they would swim on. It was the weirdest thing ever. Has anyone else ever seen these maritime patrols? Where was this guy when the Bloated Float was hijacked?

The battleship Talos

That mudcrab won't sink any more Imperial ships

Then later I came upon this Imperial Forester arresting the hillside

:lmao: Looks like the legions need to up their hiring standards. Then again this is the Army that decided to charge a lone, random prisoner of questionable morality and mental stability with fighting off an inter-dimensional demonic invasion.
