Craziest thing you've done in your Skyrim hype.

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 12:08 am

So, this one isn't another suggestion, but since I started doing some crazy things as a result of my hype for Skyrim. I'm wondering if I started my episode of anticipation for Skyrim a little early, and if I haven't, then I was wondering what some crazy things people have done or changes in behavior they have caught.

So, just post the craziest thing you have done so far. I'll probably do another thread each month until the start of November. And I'll start:

I have stopped using paper money and I've been carrying around gold dollar coins for about 3 weeks now. So my pockets have been jingling with "gold" coins and I have been buying things out of the convenience stores that around the grounds of the university I attend with them. I think it's starting to get on the clerk's nerves though. svcks to be them: I'm going to do this till launch.

Its not really "crazy", but in hype for skyrim I tell all of my friends the info about it, even though only one of them cares. And I go on for hours telling my girlfriend about it, but she could care less :P

I've not done anything crazy about Skyrim, not at all, no sir...
Well is it crazy to strip naked, grab a spear from your house and hunt down every man named Todd.. yelling you see this use it, for gods sake use it.
Two parts of those are true.

Seriously spend more time here than should be healthy is my main crazy act.

It's not really crazy, but Skyrim's mountain ranges inspired me to go hiking. I'll be hiking the two biggest mounts in my vicinity, the biggest one is over 5000 feet, gonna enjoy the view!

You should try and count 7000 steps while hiking up it and stop at 7000 :D

Well, I wouldn't call it crazy, but I've already planned on making a custom race for the game, after it comes out

took me four years to accomplish this.

i haven't really done anything. i guess i could say i'm growing a beard for Skyrim, but that's not entirely true (i never shave (glorious neckbeard master race)). i've certainly been humming Nerevar Rising an awful lot lately, though.

actually the full extent of my DOING THINGS FOR HYPE seems to extend to "like their page on Facebook and periodically engage in discussions regarding the game on various forums". right now i'm juggling Skyrim, Battlefield 3 and STALKER 2.

I haven't really done anything "crazy" per se.

I've tried to make it my goal to at least attempt to finish every Elder Scrolls game. I've beaten Morrowind, Oblivion, and Redguard so far. I've played a little of Arena and I doubt I'll finish it. I'm going to give Daggerfall a sincere try, and I have Battlespire waiting for me, too. And I started reading The Infernal City.

I also have a giant WordPad file of mod ideas I'm planning on for Skyrim.

And scream out FUS RO DAH!

Maybe a dragon will appear out of nowhere, you never know! ;)

Ps: I won't count to 7000 steps, even if I tried I'd probably mess up or get bored of it somewhere between 1 and 3.

Really what got my post count up wasn't posting about the hype, it was trying to talk the people that for some reason got bad ideas from the hubdates from the ledge.

Of course you have to scream out FUS RO DAH! But unfortunately there will be no dragons because FUS RO DAH! is a power that is like force push from Star Wars, not a dragon call.

I suppose I can only hope for a Skyrim demo in which the demonstrate the dragon call before I go on that hike!

Or maybe a dragon will hear me saying FUS RO DAH and think "Hey! He speaks draconic! It's been so long since I've had a nice conversation!"

Edit: Or a nice Dragonborn sandwich. ;)
