Crazy Idea for Skyrim's Easter Eggs

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 12:51 am

I have a crazy idea, and its probably not going to happen;

Imagine how cool it would be if there was like a hidden cave or on top of a mountain with an Xbox or a PC that had a controller next to it. If you walked up next to it and activated it, the game would initiate a loading screen and booted up a previous Elder Scrolls game, preferably Morrowind.

The only reason I posted this was because it had been bugging me for quite a few days.

Yea, sure, only if the cave is guarded by the mad scientist Todd who waves a big axe screaming at you "stay away from the thing! it bsod on me, we're all doomed!"

the only way i'd see something like this happen is if the easter egg is finding a corpse, and on the corpse's finger there is a ring, aptly inscribed in the ring is "the red ring of death"

it turns out it's just a useless copper ring with a silly inscription.

I voted yes, but only because there wasn't an other. It would be cool, instead to have a drawing on a cave wall. You remember the Morrowind loading screens, where they would have sketches of Silt Striders and Skeletons and stuff? It would be cool to see those etched onto a wall. Or jotted down on a piece of parchment in someones home. That would be a cool easter egg for me.

Nope. I don't like the idea of throwing in random non-lore friendly easter eggs. At the very least something along the lines of the bridge troll, who was quite hilarious.

I like this :goodjob:
I'd roleplay an anthropologist anyday if there was a lot of research material scattered in the game world besides the books and the ruins.

I know. It would be so cool to see something like that in the game, instead of traditional easter eggs where there is writing on the walls, or a particular person doing something. It would be awesome to see some of the Elder Scrolls anthology scattered around Skyrim. A memeto to a bygone age, where cliff racers pissed the hell out of EVERYBODY! XD

Rofl. This discussion devolved rather quickly. I voted no to the idea... at least try to keep it somewhat lore-friendly. I love easter eggs that give throw-backs to the older TES games... but this is a bit much. Hell, I'll just be happy if M'aiq is roaming around to talk about random things :) Would definitely like to find out something about Jyggalag and the new Madgod in the game somewhere. But no, your idea is just... no.
