createfullactorcopy vs placeatme

The short version: What's the difference between the two codes, which would be better for cloning animals (as opposed to NPCs), and do PAM'd creatures disappear after three days?

The long version: I have MMM installed, which includes Mr. Siika's Farm Animals, and I want to add a few animals to some of my houses. I have found a few mods that add usable animals, such as Useful Farm Animals for COBL, which only provides cows and chickens, and Millstone Farm, which provides animals only for itself; neither is sufficient. I'm not well-versed enough in the CS to risk messing around with anything, so I figure console commands are my best bet. So I've been reading up on "createfullactorcopy" and "placeatme", and I was wondering which I should use. From what I understand, both can cause bloating, but I figure as long as I keep it small, no more than a handful of animals or so, it shouldn't be a problem. I've read that CAFC is recommended more for NPCs with specific features you want to duplicate, so I was leaning more toward PAM, but then I read that actors created by PAM are purged after three days, so now I don't know what to think. Push comes to shove, I suppose I could just use "moveto player" to steal other people's animals, but that seems kinda mean. Any advice?
