Creating music videos.

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:09 am

Couple of questions.

Do the software workstations allow you to create images without the ability to draw? Are all of those images on sites like Mattepainting and Deviant art drawn on a graphic tablet? Or were they somehow pieced together (or rendered?) from other art using digital software by people who can't draw? I want to make music videos, I can arrange and sequence my own music, but when it comes to drawing I have no experience. (please do not post cliches such as "it's never too late to start")

What software do I need for this? Is there a all in one software? (image making, audio making, film editing) I'm looking at the Nuendo from steinberg, but I don't know if it has features like photoshop that can make images.

For the "videos", I don't need to have motion pictures, just still images panned, faded and zoomed would be good.

I have a powerful system (i.e., not some pentium IV) and can use all of the modern software.

Thanks.

Each computer is different - by default you should at least have paint. This is not good enough but should be adequate for just messing about with ideas, storyboards, etc

For the most part, yes. You don't NEED a wacom or any other sketching material but its about 50 times easier.

You can do this using Photoshop or equivalent (GIMP is free).

If you want to make simple music videos, Windows Movie Maker is free.

What can photomanipulation techniques allow people with no ability to draw do?

This guy put this picture in the photo manipulation section on deviant. Says something about training his "lightning technic". Is that another term for a handpainting technique, or some software rendering technique?

A lot of the video game programmers and developers of computer graphics can't draw anything themselves. How did they do it?

Thats not entirely true...however texture artists will sometimes photograph the appropriate textures instead if drawing them by hand.

At my college the vast majority of the computer programming students can't draw. Neither can the professors.

No amount of software can ever make up for lack of any talent.

There are a lot of things to program besides video games, also programming a video game doesn't instantly make you do graphics design for a video game.
