Creating Rubeus Hagrid? (with or without mods)

Post » Wed Dec 25, 2013 3:02 pm

I've ALWAYS wanted to try this, but I'm on the xbox so it would be impossible to scale him correctly. I wonder if anyone could come close to creating him? Once you have the height, (maybe you could scale him to Tsun's height?) hair, and beard, it shouldn't be too difficult to do the face. As for playstyle, he would be unarmoured with Crossbows, Speech, Smithing and Alteration. (for the armour rating.)

His attire would be hard to get right. Maybe these? http://uesp.net/wiki/File:SR-icon-clothing-Fur-TrimmedCloak.png

As for his feet, just darkly coloured boots as he won't be using armour. It would also be fitting if he joined the Dawnguard and had an Armoured Troll with him for protection, or maybe a dog? The Call Dragon shouts would also be extremely fitting! I can see myself really liking this build. All I need is the look.

Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated, I know I'm daft but I have always wanted to do this. If anyone comes close to creating him please do post screenshots!

He needs to be fat  and taller than an Altmer (I think Tsun's height would be perfect  ).

Everything else sounds like it'd be perfect...Maybe he could use conjuration instead of crossbows? (I don't remember hagrid fighting).

EDIT- I just remembered he had a crossbow in the woods so it's a great idea!

There's the one scene in Chamber of Secrets where he answers the door to his hut with a Crossbow in hand. That's the only weapon I've ever seen him with. As for Conjuration, I don't think Hagrid is magical at all but I may be wrong.

<3 Hagrid.

ANYWAY!

Let's see, spells bounce off Hagrid do to his half giant blood. So Alteration possibly covers that. He can also cast a few spells as seen through the series, but they tend to be the basic spells, so low level destruction, maybe.

Of course you need a pet dog! Fang's always by Hagrid's side.

Hmm, can't think of anything else right now....

Edit: Crossbow will be perfect for him, he used it several times over the series.

I'm also thinking that he should buy the plot of land in Falkreath to serve as his hut. I wouldn't upgrade it to the full house, just a small one. He should also join the College of Winterhold and do a few jobs for the Orc downstairs. It's such a shame that I'm not on the PC. =(

I suppose I'll just have to live with being average height.

Hagrid is definitely magical. He's simply (1) a wizard of modest talent under the best of circumstances, (2) inadequately trained, because he was expelled in his third year after being framed (for more on that, see here: http://www.ginnypotter.com/phpnuke/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4037 ), and (3) using a broken wand that he clumsily repaired himself.

As for creating him, I'd say you want a Breton (to simulate giantish magic resistance), with black hair (as long as you can get it) and the bushiest beard available. He should be armed with a crossbow and low-level spells (Novice only). His up-close weapon would probably be an ax, since he's probably responsible for tree-cutting and such. He'd probably wear light armor like leather.

yeah, he was in Gryffindor for three years (he was expelled) so he DOES have some talent with magic, just not much (does not help he uses a sem-broken wand inside and umbrella.

I'll definetly use only low-level spells, with the exception of Alteration. I really want to wear clothes for the aesthetic. I think I'll use some low level Illusion spells. Which makes sense as he is very fond of beasts, and beasts are very fond of him.
