Creating an ex-Thalmor character

Post » Sun Nov 17, 2013 11:33 pm

I have plans for my first evil, or at least relatively evil, character. An ex-Thalmor soldier/politician/strategist (haven't decided which yet, all I know is I want him to have formerly been a high-ranking member, so please offer some advice if you can) who was betrayed by his kinsmen and is now gaining power by any means necessary, such as becoming a vampire, daedric quests, etc, to exact his revenge.

  1. How does the Altmer naming structure work, since a name generator only showed forenames? Do they not have surnames?
  2. What would be a senior position within the Thalmor party, high enough so that his abandonment would feel like true betrayal?
  3. Could anyone fill me in on some of the details of the Thalmor religious believes, besides the fact that they are opposed to Talos worship?
  4. What could be a logical reason as to his kinsmen betraying him, such as corruption within the Thalmor (if it exists)?
  5. In your opinions, what are some stereotypical Thalmor weaponry, magic schools, skills and clothing?

EDIT: On a side-note, are only Altmer Thalmor agents?

Well, Altmer are considered most evil due to their conquering nature. It could tie well with an evil character. Also, side with vampires and hold off doing any "good" guilds. Basically, make them do something their own way. Don't care for the rules unless they have a goal that forces them to abide by rules.

And do a lot of Daedric quests, all if possible. And put them on the path of evil, of course >:]

I remember reading an Altmer build awhile back about a betrayed General of the Thalmor army who, after being betrayed by his own kind, basically becomes filled with hatred and hates everyone. It's a nice idea for an evil build, as well as a good excuse to play as an Altmer and wear the awesome Thalmor robes without the need for a supremacist attitude.

EDIT: Here it is... http://theskyrimblog.ning.com/group/character-building/forum/topics/character-build-the-nemesis

What's your opinions on this? I might adapt this and create my own Nemesis.

If we're talking true "Nazi SS" evil rather than cartoon "bad man" evil, then I don't think many people here could stomach playing such a thing for long.
