Knowing that beta characters always get wiped I didn't put much work into my look. Just enough to be happy with what I was playing (i play 3rd person in ES games so I tend to like to fiddle with looks). At launch though I'll fine tune everything :)

I didn't. I had such limited time to play, I just rolled the fastest decent character I could make so I could jump right in. I wish there was an offline character generator for this downtime.

I have a pic of my beta character and will get her as close as i can but didnt make that many notes she was created with gut feeling mostly, but then ive made her in so many games i can allways get close, shes been in SWG, Vanguard, etc and so many others including single players elder scrolls of course and dragon age and she was my fem shep in Mass effect 1 2 3.

I'm likely to spend a large portion of time to character customization, I also prefer to play in 3rd person view so how my character looks is important. Although I played with the customization a lot in beta, I didn't really fine tune them so I didn't bother noting anything down.

I just hit the randomize option, and jumped in. I didn't want to waste any time. I'll make sure to take my time when its permanent though :)

Yes, I wrote everything down for my lady bosmer. Face nudged toward heroic middle; max waist, hips, arms, and legs; default posterior; broadest shoulders (torso); chest a quarter above average; curly thorn tattoo; big, flared ears; skin tone third from the darkest; no adornment; and your avatar's hair (blonde). Now that I am looking at two alts for the other factions, I regret not designing those during beta, but they are planned to be dunmer male and redguard female. However, I have recently gone from ignoring the existence of argonians to being a little fascinated with them, so the redguard may be out.

I intentionally made characters for the beta that I knew I wouldn't be playing come launch. Still spent a ridiculous amount of time customizing them, though.

I wish they had released "character creating tool" before launch. In FFXIV, it was possible to create your appearance way before launch, then save it and load it in game when creating character. This would ahve been awesome in here too but I think I already know the basics of how I wan't to look so I will be good either way.

I'm pretty much a "randomise" person when it comes to creating a character. I've been that way for many years now, mainly because I almost never see the front of my character when I play, so it makes no difference to me.

You know, I wish I had done this myself. Though I have screenshots of my character and a program that allows me to overlay a semi transparent window over any other window; so I should be okay. I hope.

I took a couple screen shots of my argonian but for the most part i know how i want him to look and i will play with it til i get it right again. Who knows i may stumble onto something that looks better then what i found in beta. My big issue will be a name. I have no idea yet on what i want him to be called.

Search for "Foreground Image Overlay" it's a great little program. I sometimes use it to overlay a certain actors face in order to emulate them in-game. This time around I used it with a golden ratio face mask in order to space facial features out properly, to minimise that uncanny valley eariness. Here's what I came up with; http://s24.postimg.org/ko8pxrhid/Ysabel22.jpg

Thanks. That is a lovely build. By default the human women have oddly thin faces with the eyes too close together, imo.

No, I specifically made a character I would not like in a faction I have no intention of starting in. Which was a Bosmer, disgusting people. Cannibals the lot of them....

Oh crap, that's a wood elf, oops! Sorry! But they are...

don't know. I really liked my Altmer female from beta. Had gold face paint, and a gold band on her forehead, and a mohawk. Kinda made her blend in with the Khajiit, like she was raised by rabid cats.

i might go with that again or something totally different.

Yes, if you do a search for a golden ratio mask you'll see so called ideal face proportions, based on what ours eyes deem as aesthetically pleasing. I don't really pay it much notice, but it's a nice template to at least get things like the eyes, nose and mouth in roughly the right positions. It turns out that most faces in ESO are rather warped by default; eyes too far down the head, facial features too close together and everyone has a tiny mouth for some reason, and unfortunately that can't be changed. That being said, I think she turned out okay.

She's an Imperial, so their faces are slightly sharper than the other races, which I like. I also gave her a nice ski slope nose, which you can only really get as an Imperial. Yes, I'm rather obsessed; I take character creation to a whole new level. Haha.

Although I'd like a way to save profiles I actually find it easy to remake a design I like. Easy to remember all settings without notes. Brains are neat when actually used!

thats a really awesome idea! :D i love it! and hope they do this

my only problem with this, is that while i was in character creation i kept getting black screen and complete PC shut down. was very disturbing, basicly allways after about 8 minutes i would complete crash and black screen. i sur ehope they have fixed that problem.

I've never really bothered with character looks, mostly went with the default, unless it came out absolutely horrendeous...
