Is it possible to have steam (portal 2 uses steam on ps3 to play online with mac and pc users) on ps3 to allow downloading of mods. Im not tryna get flamed because it is unlikely but is it possible that the mods created with the kit on pc be compatible on ps3?

Yes it does. We've always been impressed with what the community has done with our tools. Like the Elder Scrolls Construction Set for Morrowind and Oblivion, we plan to release Creation Kit so you guys can mod Skyrim :celebration:

Yay!

By the way, can we expect a Technology Behind Skyrim Part II hub update? One of the things I wanted to know was how the new distant LOD system (something already confirmed) works. More specifically, I want to know if it'll still be pre-generated and static, or if it's been completely overhauled so that you could, say, have a town that gets built throughout the game and can see it throughout its stages of development in the distance, something that was impossible with the way Oblivion's distant LOD worked. (Then again, that kind of answer isn't something that would go in an article, as it would fly over the head of the average reader.)

Well, guess that settles that. One less thing for people to beg and plead for.

It's not the distribution that is the issue, really, it would be the certification of the mods. Without some form of certification, or an agreement that creates a special limited version of the Creation Kit, Sony and MS are unlikely to allow user created content on the consoles.

I was actually worried that it wouldn't be publicly available! Still can't believe we got an actual confirmation

Now let's hope it's as user friendly as the CS was.
Seriously, my hype just went up through the roof. Can't wait!

Cool, I'm just practicing some stuff on the construction set and then move to Skyrim modding. We'll see what kind of mods people here will make.

what is a fishy stick? and are their node systems in the current kit like in the UDK?

I was told that someone might offer one to a new member.

I love you guys! I am so happy to hear this, even though I assumed it, its great to have it confirmed. All my worry's are gone now about Skyrim. There will be more equipment slots than Fallout(hard to mod this, which is why I cared so much) and there will be MODS! New perks, quests, game overhauls, tweaks, equipment oh my! Oblivion was the best playground ever for mods, but Skyrim will take it to a new level!

TES was always about playing the game how you wanted, mods just take this to a new level, so much awesomeness.

Also this proves Beth does care about there pc fanbase, we are less than %25 of sales(based on the recent Beth games) yet they still give us the ultimate goody.

No more questions for today [quickly brushes the reporters aside and jumps in the getaway car]. There's plenty more to be revealed on the game. There will be lingering questions, and you guys will have your opportunity to get answers... eventually.

Not sure what to vote now, since I don't "think" there's going to be Creation Kit since now I KNOW there's going to be one. :P

What AWESOME news to wake up to! I am so happy to hear confirmation! This confirms that SKYRIM (+ mods) will be the game that occupies me 'till the next TES title, just as Oblivion (+mods) has tided me over until now... :celebration:
