Creation Kit Problem: Deleted Objects aren't deleted!

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 1:55 am

Hi All,
I was wondering why, after I click on Delete for a form, it doesn't delete, but just adds a "D" in the count.

The item was created by mistake and I wanted to remove it from my plugin...but it doesn't allow that! :(

Anyone could help?

Thanks,
Jashkar

if you reload your esp it will be gone. if it's taking up a name you want to use for the Editor ID, then change the deleted name to something else

I always remove such dirty edits by going to the Data tab (where you load the plugins) select the plugin you want to clean and then click details. Then delete the unwanted forms there (set ignore flag) and then reload the plugin in the CK.

I've reloaded...but I have a blank form with a "D"! :(

How you set the ignore flag?

When I hopen details it doesn't allow to interact with the list...there is a special key for that?

Edited: I've found it! I only had to use the Delete key on it!
However...now the dirty edit is gone for good right?
Thanks,

Select the form or group in that list and press delete.

When you open the details window, just select whichever record you want ignored and press the delete key. There should be an I that will show up in the "Ignored" field.

If the object is from your ESP it should be deleted the next time you save the plugin (i.e. delete - save with deletion flag - reload - save => object is gone) Or just set the ignore-flag in tne details menu to delete it on the next reload.

if you delete a vanilla object (FormID starting with 00) then it will never be removed, your mod just contains a deletion-record that tells the game to remove that object from the current savegame, but this will also make your mod incompatible with most savegames.

Generally it's a wise idea to get familiar with Skyedit and TESVSnip, those tools are much more powerful and easier to use than the CK's Details menu.
