I apologize if this post is vague, or has been addressed before, but I am having a hard time finding any solutions to my issue on the internet. I am hoping some of the more experienced creation kit users may have run into this, and have some suggestions on how I can address the problem.

I am professional game developer, who has finally found some time to play with the creation kit, this means I have come late to the game. Most of the tutorials, and post I have found are several years old at this point, so I am not sure what issues have already been fixed, and what issues have been introduced in the later patches.

The problem I am having is, simple. I will open the creation kit, with the skyrim.esm. I will start a new cell, or work on an existing one, and in 10 to 20 minutes, creation kit will simply stop responding, and crash.

I have tried it on my laptop as well, and it dose the same thing, but it seems to do it faster, 5 to 10 minutes. This makes me think that it may have to do with system memory. My laptop has 4gig, the other has 6. I know neither of these are impressive, and I have a new system coming, with 16. I have not been able to find any Min Specs for creation kit, both systems run Skyrim proper fine.

The only extenuating circumstance I can think of is I have all the DLC from steam, so there are several other esm files, HarthFires etc. As well the High Res Texture packs. Could there be some data in these that is causing a problem?

In addition I have not been able to find any sort of Log, or crash dump to look at, when CK dies, if there is such a thing I would, and someone could point me to it I might prove helpful.

Hope someone can help, don’t mind feeling stupid if this is something simple.
