Creation Kit Video Tutorials [merged]

I prefer the OP's way much better than trying to document (Download) my info for offline use, rather than hunting through pages upon pages of topics and sub-topics while converting to PDF and saving hundreds of times, whereas the OP has all the info right here in one spot....

I am waiting a good tiutorial on "Exterior" landscaping as seems is quite an undertaking to be able to work on outsiide cells with this editoor , wich is more sloppy thanprevious ones on this aspect so I wondering if they will cover this subject and when to see if I am doing soometing wrong or if is wrong the editor ...

If I see a video tutorial on exterior landscaping, or if someone posts a link to one here, I will be sure to add it to the list in the OP and on the Wiki.

By the way, if anyone out there reading this thread has the means to produce any video tutorials covering something that is not already covered, your contribution to the modding community will be invaluable. Please consider taking a few minutes to demonstrate your techniques.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned TES Alliance. Having workshops and classes is their bread and butter. Their tutorials are top notch and professional. They don't usually do video, but they are well written with lots of images. And if you join the class, the instructor will evaluate your work and you get a medal upon completion.

Here's the link to their http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/forum/113-esv-skyrim-school/.

You do not make models or textures in the CK.

True. But eventually, someone might put together a video tutorial indicating how to do this. Because such tutorials will involve editing with 3rd-party software, I'll list them under a new heading, called "Advanced Tutorials". It is my hope that the collection of video tutorials will include examples of how to do just about everything. To anyone who may be interested in putting together an advanced tutorial demonstrating how to retexture a model, or how to design and texture one from scratch and import it into the CK, I would prefer that Blender and GIMP be used in the process. I'll still link tutorials using any software, but I will list tutorials using GIMP and Blender first because they are free and thus most accessible for long-term use, rather than the trial period limits on most commercial tools.

Also, such advanced tutorials will introduce the use of community-authored utilities for Skyrim as some techniques used in large-scale projects are currently problematic within the CK itself. When we get to that stage with video tutorials, I will do my best to link to all vital documentation.

This is a Tutorial for making Bookshelfs. I hope it helps you to create them easier

Place a shelf in the Room of your Choice
Place a PlayerBookShelfContainer behind the Top Board or above it.
Place the DefaultBookShelfBookMarker in the count of your choice (max possible is 18 - Script Limit) on the Top Board
Link Ref The PlayerBookShelfContainer from the LinkedRef Tab with the First BookMarker and select as Keyword BookShelfBook01.
Do that with each book you have placed and change the number to 02,03 for each subsequent book you have placed.
Mark the Shelf and click on the T Button of the Editor to create a new TriggerBox. Selec PlayerBookShelfTrigger from the List and hit OK.
Now Scale this Triggerbox with the Arrows to the Size of the Bookrow you have placed. Type R to disable Scale Mod.
Link Ref PlayerBookShelfContainer with no Keyword from the PlayerBookShelfTrigger menu.
Link Ref PlayerBookShelfTrigger with BookShelfTrigger01 keyword from the PlayerBookShelfContainer LinkedRef Tab
Hit the T Button again and create a PlayerBookShelfClickTrigger.
Scale it a bit smaller as the Board size of the Shelf is. Pull it a little bit out. Type R and make a Double Klick on the Trigger Box. Go to the Primitive TAB and set "Player Activation".
Link Ref PlayerBookShelfContainer with BookShelfContainer keyword from PlayerBookShelfClickTrigger LinkedRef Tab.
Confirm with OK. Thats it.

Sry for my english, but i'm from Austria

I have made a Videotut. too This works without a Problem in my own Housemod.

Important Notice to Users new at Modding TES Games.

Never duplicate (Copy) placed Original Objects, cause this makes more Problems as its saves Worksteps....
You can do in your own created Cells what you want, but every Change on a Vanilla Cell mark them and the moved Object as "Changed".

I made a tutorial on how to make a custom Merchant NPC that will sell anything you want. It also includes how to make your own custom VendorXXXXX job (other than the standard ones like VendorBlacksmith etc.) and VendorItems list. I hope it's good, I never made tutorial videos.

Can you make a tutorial on how to use the CK in outside landscape editiing§? so far the controls are waay too complicate and messy , I personally wasted a whole eveningtrying fighting witth the controls that moved erraticly , things that appeared and disappeared , loaded and unloaded cells , camera going around objects with a km radius or offsetted centers ? this stuff would be way much moore helping .....

also a tutorial on how to create new perk trees woould be nice ....

I do not see a specific section in the written official tutorials that covers this. So Community-authored tutorials, both video and written will have to serve. I have no doubt that some will be forthcoming. When they arrive, I'll make sure to include them.

Well thanks but my post was directed to the Beth for askingthem to explain us how to use the camera controls in outside as is way different than interiors , so its either buggy the outside work or it has a different approach ...

I figured as much, which is why I checked the official written tutorials, which have not been added to since CreationKit.com went live. So far their video tutorials have been following the written ones very closely. I'm expecting "Basic Encounters" to get its video tutorial tomorrow.

If they do get to exterior design, it will likely come later. And its video will follow. If I were a betting man, I would bet that the community beats them to the punch for both written and video tutorials on the subject. Regardless of where they come from, I'll be on the case and will make sure they are easily found in this thread's OP.

In the first tutorial when he loads Skyrim.esm he has no errors, but I get loads of errors and each error has a window telling me to press "Yes to all" but there is no such button. I have to force shutdown of the program to make the popup-windows stop coming up.

When will a working copy of Creation Kit be released?

You also will have noticed that the CK loaded the ESM almost instantly compared to our load times. The video was clearly edited for time, conveniently cutting the part where the error messages would come up. It is not a conspiracy, though. those errors are harmless. If you do not have a "Yes to all" button, click cancel. As far as has been determined, non-english localization for the CK uses a cancel button instead of "Yes to all."

I find myself anticipating the official tutorials more than I ever anticipated the game itself.

As for the error messages that somebody mentioned earlier, you can turn those off in the ini file for the Kit. I did that and now the only errors I see are compiler errors.
