Hello!

I come to you guys today because I have a very serious problem with my recent purchase of Skyrim, more specifically the Creation Kit. For the past day, no matter what I do my Kit refuses to work. I have images but I can't post them on here (I guess it's because this is a new account)

But basically It keeps saying : Creation Kit Has Stopped Working

And it just closes.

-I've tweaked the Pref's file to add the language and masterload files just in case

-I've validated and reinstalled CK and skyrim several times

-Set permissions to administrator and set it to be compatible with Win XP (And Win 7)

I don't know what to do here, I'm at my wits end and I feel like I wasted money on something that should be working. At least My game runs well, but I really wanted to make mods and I can't because Creation kit refuses to stay Open. It doesn't even tell me what the problem was, it just closes. The crazy thing is, is that I can navigate through the menus quickly and even attempt to load a world, in which it will give me the obligatory errors but then the same annoying window pops up and it stops working. I don't know what to do, I really don't want to refund my game but this is ridiculous.

EDIT : Nevermind I manage to fix it. Apparently AVG was the issue and I disabled it

Under what circumstances does it crash? The CK is notorious for frequent crashing. You must save often, and especially when you are working with complex things. Try adding this to the SkyrimEditor.ini set bEnableAudio=0. This modification will result in making it harder to exit the CK, but you can easily circumvent this by Ctrl Alt Delete into Task Manager then close down the CK there.

since you say it loads before it crashes, it might be the files you load rather than the kit itself.

did you try to load just the skyrim.esm with no mod?

if that works, best check whatever you tried to load in tes5edit, if that can load it, you can fix it there.

Yes try open with TES5edit and try "check for errors"

Thanks guys I totally forgot about TES5EDIT and the Audio edit. I don't know why my AVG does this, I remember when I was playing the Divison online and after I restarted my PC it started doing the same thing, I'll have to change my antivirus program this is happening too much and I almost refunded my game because of this issue.

Think my friend had a similar issue but he ended up upgrading to Windows 10 and it solved it for some reason.
