Creative Homes

Post » Wed Aug 17, 2011 6:11 am

Everyone knows about the Novac motel room, the Lucky 38, Victor's shack, etc. I'm looking for a wasteland home that's new, and creative. A place that has things like a radio or a workbench are preferred but any location that falls under this criteria is fine: safe storage, a bed, a fast travel point within 15 seconds of walking distance.

I just want more home customization, like the Lucky 38 and Sink.

But on-topic, I would like one of these too. One that feels unique instead of "Oh, hey, you can live in a tiny town in an apartment!", "You get suite in a boring, monotoned casino!", "You get a badass home that no human has ever stepped foot in or even looked at in centuries, complete with talking toasters, coffe mug obsessed robot, talking light-switches, and horny thing that plants seeds for you! (Latter also known as useless sack of [censored])

I still like the house with the Mr.Gutsys in Nipton. It has a workbench, a bed, water, safe storage and a campfire at the near trailer park.

I would like an empty home. A place with shelves to put my items on, it shouldn't be cluttered and/or restricting like the Novac room. It shouldn't take along time to get to like the 38 suite.
It must have a radio :whistling: and of course safe storage!
Oh and another thing it shouldn't be a challenge to drop my items! (I'm looking at you Brotherhood safehouse!)

Maybe Lonesome Road will deliver a home like this?

My two favourite places are the BoS safehouse and the S.I.N.K. but the safehouse is risky when dropping items :(

I forget the name but there's a place near dead wind caven that has an FT marker which is kitted out with a fire place outside, ammo & work bench inside, along with a bed, lockers & storage.

Try Harper's Shack, it has a campfire, safe storage, a bed, workbench, reloading bench, and you can fast travel to the front door. It is near primm pass but look it up on the wiki for an exact location. I use more than the novac hotel room and the 38.

I always loved my first house... the camper inside Goodspring. It has two safe storage boxes (I use one for ammo, and the other for... other), and a bed. Also when you go to sleep there at night you often wake up with one of the towns people sleeping with you. Always great to wake up besides Sunny :D .

In my very first playthrough, I started off as a squatter in Goodsprings. I set up some unowned Sarsaparilla crates near the workbenches for my storage and crafting and crashed in Easy Pete's house. Went "camping" and hunting for Geckoes by the Goodsprings source when I needed the general store to reset. Uses the campfires by the Goodsprings source to make Gecko steaks for hardcoe mode. I was probably level 6 or so when I decided it was finally "safe" to leave town and chase Benny. LOL

Practically issues aside, I would have liked to setup residence in Zion. I always thought the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Scavenger_Platform was a good place to "camp" as well.

Ever tried Guardian Peak. Theres a campfire, a large tent with plenty sleeping mats, lots of storage lockers, fresh water a short walk away. Go up the stairs and theres a nice relaxing chair and a table for beer and cigs. Theres lots of vegitation in the surrounding area, nice views too.

One of my playthroughs lives on Guardian Peak. It's a pretty nice place.

Normally, I use the 38 and the Sink. I am a collector. I try to get every rare item in the game, including the infamous snowglobe. I want a place a little smaller than the 38 that offers snowglobe display, shelves for me to display things, armor cases (like in OWB, when you find the hazmat suit), weapon cases. Something spiffy.

Have i totally been missing something?

when you guys say 'Safe Storage" do you mean an actual locked safe, or are you just saying its a location that NPC's won't accidentally take your stuff? Kinda like when the companions steal your nuka-cola quantums out of your Lucky 38 soda machine.

I used to house my stuff at the GoodSprings camp site. It's a horrible location to make your home at, but i just liked the idea of living out of a suit case by a camp fire.

Non-respawning containers. If you put your items into a container that respawns, your items disappear and are replaced by the new items.

I think it would be freakin' awesome if we had a mansion like the one in Point Lookout. THAT would be KICK ASS.

Would be nice if you just start out in an area and build it up with materials you find. At least then you would have the option of having it look the way you want it.

There are alot of great mods. But, I would like maybe a personal Hidden Valley Bunker. Hopefully lonesome road will have a house like the sink in OWB

There's a place near Cottonwood Cove, it's a prospecter camp, has a doggy, and its a nice little place. Not sure if it has safe storage or a bed, though.
EDIT: Yep, according to the wiki, it has safe storage, a bed, and a campfire. Although the dog is the real best part.

I like smith mesa prospector camp and the snipers nest, I like the scavenger platform but it's infested with mirelurks. The first two have safe storage and bed along with campfire, and almost forgot El Dorado gas and service.
