light on target / touch is not aggressive, my crazy mage use it to train illusion. Wanted to make a short powerful light spell to get a overview forgot to set it to on self. Fortify mercantile 100 for 2 seconds on touch is more useless :) same mistake.

Interesting. When I strictly use light as an AOE spell (for example, a brief flash of light that I sometimes use to illuminate large areas) friendly NPCs freak out and attack me every time.

Just checked now and npc does not react on light on target even if it's area effect.
They does not react to invisibility or chameleon on touch either, so two invisible mages stops and start to talk as if nothing unusual is going on.
discovery 3: npc under influence of command humanoid follow you trough load doors but not fast travel; Sheogorath was left in Bliss.

Note to self, do not cast frenzy on high level mages you have previously cast chameleon on then we are the only two in the room.

I like the spell I made for the adoring fan;
absorb personality 5pts 1sec - on touch
drain fatigue 300pts 1sec - self

And he uses it over and over and over... :hubbahubba:

Like big daddy, I like to combine light with elemental damage. However, I never thought of light with soul trap before. Definitely going to try that one! My spell, Kyne’s Fury, illuminates the target while paralyzing it for three seconds and damaging it with frost and shock. The light effect while the electricity surges through the falling body never gets old. After reading these ideas I’m going to tweak the spell to incorporate big daddy’s soul trap and Xarnac’s idea to imbue the caster with lightning! I will also definitely use Acadian’s idea of putting a feather on self ‘timer’ to any duration spell I make in the future. Thanks guys!

I know, used that page to verify it but thought it might be possible in some obscure way like catching a disease.

I just tested the weakness to poison spell against mended flesh elementals from SI. Boss level enemy with 25% spell reflection and it worked extremely well.

A pretty complex spell; turn undead level 25 for 30 seconds, light 27 seconds, weakens to poison 100 in 5 sec, weakness to magic 100 in 5 sec, shock damage 3 for 1 second.

Now the turn undead does not work on the flesh elemental but would work with liches. Light to get a timeout warning of the turn undead, pretty pointless because the poisoned enemy dies fast, 5 seconds to indicate that the weakness to poison effect is active had been better.
Weakness to poison for poison effect, weakness to magic to boost it, yes the weakness to magic is dangerous however I always summon a clanfear or something to draw attention.
Shock damage is just so I know if the spell has been reflected.

I use a poison with silence, fire damage and damage health, work well enough, more so because I usually cast the spell a cople of times at enemy before hitting so the weakness to magic should boost the weakness to poison.
Enemy dies in seconds, I use blade of woe as it’s unenhanced and sits in my inventory so I can have it ready poisoned.
