Creative ways to ask a girl to prom

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:52 am

So, it's prom season. As in the dance at the end of a high school year, in America, at least. Long dresses, tuxes, the whole shebang. As a senior in high school, I think I'll be going, but I have not yet asked the apple of my eye, and I'm looking for a creative way to do it...

Last year I asked a girl with a limerick attached to a fruit basket, which was fun, if not a bit campy, but I feel the need to top it this year. I know someone who baked cupcakes, each with a letter on top that spelled out "Prom? (smiely face)"

I've been throwing around the idea of getting a fortune cookie that asks her to prom, but I'm not sure how I would accomplish that...

Any ideas?

Yes, there is a book called, http://www.amazon.com/Dance-Book-Ways-Answer-Dances/dp/096558352X/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1301895623&sr=1-5 that an old teacher of mine wrote with his wife many many years ago. There are some excellent ideas in it that you could use.

Hope that helps.

Sure, you could buy that. But if you're willing to spend money?

"Hey, does this smell like chloroform to you?"

Change your school's name to her's, then make everyone break into song, asking her to go to the prom simultaneously. She'll probably faint after that, so the downside is you'll have to wait a while.

Break into her house while she's asleep, slash yourself up and use your blood to write the big question on the roof. Romantic as [censored], and there really is nothing like blood for a question coming straight from the heart.

While I would normally agree with this idea however I asked my gran if she wanted me to fix her computer using this method and well....it didn't end well.

Check for heart condition before.

Just asking her out is pretty unique on these forums, I hear.

Ah, yes... Prom.
Although at my school it's called the "Grade 10 leavers dinner" which is pretty much the equivalent. Next year I'm going to have to face the same thing and I'm most likely going to start a thread here... *heh*

Get into her school network account, then create folders in a sort of "flowchart" manner to ask the question.

If you definitely don't want to sleep with her, this is the best advice yet.

Run into her bedroom in the middle of the night wearing a hockey mask and wielding a chainsaw and scream loudly and manically asking her if she wants to go to the prom. Never fails.

For a more serious/less creative/more mundane suggestion, give her a fake parking ticket. Or ask her in song. Just burst out into song in mid-speech and ask her to go to prom. I don't really know how to be creative, I just regurgitate what I've seen in movies and internet, sorry. D:

Personally if I wanted to go with someone to the prom I'd ask them as soon as possible the normal way before someone else does.

Maybe he's asking out his girlfriend and he just wants to have some fun with it...

Rent a pack of sheeps and shave their fur so it says "Will you go to prom with me?" or something.

P.S: for better results unicorns instead of sheeps

As a girl, if someone tried something fancy to ask me to a dance I wouldn't be as flattered and star struck as you might think. I'd prefer the simple question, rather than it being a big thing.

Make a large banner asking her out and then go to her house and put it on her driveway like a ninja during the night. Don't forget to put your name on it...

I once saw a guy ask an asian girl to date by putting a the question on paper inside a home baked fortune cookie.

Stereotypes aside it was pretty cool.
