Creatures X (also - I'm Back!)

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 9:56 am

Hi Everyone.

Just to say I'm coming back to Morrowind after a looooooong break, and so naturally I'll be doing an update to my Creatures X mod. There were some new things I was going to add, and then never did.

Firstly, the dead links on my websites I'm sorting out. But I need help, even though it's an Oblivion mod, I'm more "known" in the MW community I'll ask here first. I cannot locate my Critters of Oblivion mod. Anyone know if there's a download for it somewhere?

Before I go storming into Creatures X, is there anything I need to be aware off. Any bugs to kill, new creature resources, or mods that add to Creatures X?

Noticed that Creatures X on PES is still getting current positive reviews. That gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling. Good to know MW is still alive and kicking.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome back! Your mods were wonderful.

Hmm, you know come to think of it, I'd be interested in a link to your Critters mod for Oblivion too. I'll try and look around for it.

It's good to have you back Piratelord! You should upload your old avatar again, everyone lost theirs when the forum was hacked a while ago. Nothing to worry about though. :P

I'll ask around for Critters.

Thanks guys.

Side note, seems I'm going to have to find somewhere else to host my website. I can't upload new files, even though I can log on and view/download the files from my site :S

Wow, this was a surprise! dongle, Kieve, PirateLord.. it seems that every time I get on I see another well known modder showing up. This is great! :D

I looked around and couldn't find your critters mod. All the links seemed to be dead.

There have definitely been some new creatures mods released. I don't know what you've caught and what you haven't. Here are a few off the top of my head. All of these are priceless imo. I'm not just spamming :)

I've been looking around for Critters of Oblivion for quite some time, haven't found it though. What inspired you to come back?

Mailbox was full from years ago, so spring cleaned that out.

Looks like with Critters I'll have to repackage it up. I've got the mod (naturally) on my computer, just not it as a single file download. Just have to remember what files are needed and remember the differences between OB and MW file locates. Something else to add to my list.... (hmm, was it worth coming back? Just given myself more work to do :P )

I contacted Buddah, who has a massive mod archive. If we're lucky he might still have a copy of Critters lying around. So don't go put too much effort in repackaging it just yet. :P

I won't be. I've got my website to sort out first, then get MW working with the latest MGE, then remember how to use the construction set again :P You never know, I might play the game too! :D

Oh yeah I'm sure you have a lot of catching up to do. The latest version of the Code Patch, MGE XE... It's a wonderful world of shadows, bugfixes and casting spells with your weapon still in your hand. No new Tamriel Rebuilt release yet, I'm afraid. :P

Critters actually looks pretty good, not too many creatures added. I wonder if I can make it compatible with TIE?

Damn, should downloaded it long before.

Great to see you coming back! I might inquire with Fliggerty about a New Site. As for hosting he has a new site set up (In my sig).

Creatures X is an always in my load list! For changes i might add some of the newer creatures out there and unique up the ingredients and trim down the town creatures but that is just me. There was a few odd things like getting 15k Dwemer darts and the light bulb Dwemer thing with a wonky spell.

Hey PirateLord, good to have you back. I recommend http://www.site5.com/ for all your web-hosting needs, I've used them for about two years now and their service has been flawless the entire time. I currently have 4 websites hosted on Site5, one personal and 3 for clients. Their prices are very reasonable too. :)

I haven't played Morrowind in a long time and it's been even longer since I played Creatures X but I'll definitely give it a go and see if I find any bugs :P

Welcome back PL! So nice to see old modders back where they belong ;)

I've tried Creatures X waaaay back and I love em! Could ofc need some retexturing, otherwise they're very original and fits nicely into the gameworld. :)

There was a bugfix patch for Creatures X that fixes the "15000 darts" problem - and also some other bugs - it's somewhere on the forum here...

Woo! This is great news, PirateLord. Can't wait to see what you come out with.

@Trancemaster

You know darknut did tex for Creautres 9? It applies to most of the creatures in X as well.

Welcome back. ^^ A tweaked version of Creatures X has its permanent place in my loadlist.

There was a few odd things like getting 15k Dwemer darts and the light bulb Dwemer thing with a wonky spell.
Those are the same "bugs" I encountered. The luminarium spiders always gave me error popups ingame. I posted on PirateLord's forums about it, but the place was already empty. :P

http://sites.google.com/site/johnmoonsugar/Home/morrowind-mods a patch to fix the aforementioned bugs. I don't run Creatures X without it.

Anyways, would it be possible to have an alternate version that removed the beetle/rat spawnpoints in cities?
