I've had a few moments but the one that always stuck out to me I was traveling to Anvil I'd been walking around for quite a long time and taken a beating I was at around 10 hit points pretty much 1 hit from anything would of killed me. It was night and starting to rain pretty heavily when I was approaching the gate to the city wondering if I should try and rest for an hour when I see this blur in the rain running right at me. I pull out my weapon and turn around sure this is the end, and it's just M'aiq standing there. He did look kind of menacing with a hood instead of his old hat in the dark all of a sudden but I look around for whatever it was that I saw when I see M'aiq take off again like a blur out in the rain and breath a sigh of relief realizing it was just him all along.
So far nothing in Oblivion has made my skin crawl like that music in Morrowind that plays during a house dagoth area.

When Falanu Hlaalu asks about the fine for necrophilia in Cyrodiil. I was so freaked by her! After that chat, Skingrad had one less Alchemist....

Mine was also in Hackdirt, but it scared me so much that I must describe it. I'd rented a room at the Inn, and was woken up suddenly. I didn't notice that I had been awoken, because while my character was sleeping I turned to pet my Dog. When I started to resume playing I had begun to turn the camera around, and heard "OUTSIDER! KILL!", and there it was. A shirtless man wielding a mace, ready to attack me. This was pretty frightening, but this was only the beginning. I moved the camera slightly upward, to get a good aim, and in front of me was the most hideous face I had ever looked upon. It was about 1AM at the time, and I was in a small room, alone (except for my Dog of course), and the only light source was that of the screen. I jumped so high off my seat that I almost fell to the floor, and I had to go into the menu screen to collect myself for a moment before beginning to play again.

Great description but shouldn't you spoiler-tag this? You've given away all the surprise to anybody who shows up here and hasn't done this quest yet. No offense or anything.

Same here. Prefer to spend the night at the local Mages Guild instead, despite that awful eye...

Anytime there are flies. Something about that buzzing sound creeps me out. Weird, because I'm not even afraid of bugs in real life.

Hey...I like lovecraft.

So do I. Shadow Over Innsmouth just creeped me out so much, I hate seeing reincarnations.

Those creeps should have been fixed by Bethesda. Fortunately there's "Less Creepy Guild Porters," a teeny little mod hosted on several of the mod sites.

There's no need for that mod. Just install the latest Unofficial patches. They fix that.

Remember Vilverin, right at the start?

Yeah, when I opened the second hidden wall and a zombie was RIGHT THERE!

That was scary.

That one got me too.

I use Let there be Darkness, so I get creeped out by zombies quite alot, since they are so bad at detecting me but I can't see them if I am sneaking about without a light then suddenly you hear that grunt right next to you. (used to play with Real Lights too, but that was just too much :cold: )

It freaks me out more that in Cyrodiil the penalty for grave-robbing is death, but for necrophilia its only a 500 septim fine.

one time I was doing the skingrad reccomendation quest, and I was in the cave starting to clear out the zombies and I had the starlight spell active (light 20 feet for 60 seconds) and I didnt notice the battle music started and then suddenly a zombie came out of nowhere into the area that was lit up around me and started attacking me.

made me jump in my chair :bolt:

When I began the KOTN quest by entering Anvil Chapel. I didn't read the quest popup, didn't talk to the guards first. I walk in and this is what I said:

"Clearly this was the work of necromancers!"

I was Arch-Mage at the time, so I figured only they'd do something like that. Turns out I was dead wrong.
