Criminal Origins - The RP thread

8:30

That was when Erin's phone went off. She tossed her covers off her and yelled at her ceiling. First she got suspended and now she couldn't sleep in. Groggily she trudged to the table her phone was left on. It had a message from the Police Chief.

The message read, 'Saylee, get to the station, now.'

Erin burst out laughing, first she's told to stay away from the station, and now they want her back. After a fit of laughter she walked to her closet to get dressed. Her closet was larger than average, and if she didn't have so much clothes she would probably be able to afford one of the nicer apartments in Miami. It didn't bother her though, it was a habit that she wasn't going to let go. She pulled some faded blue jeans out of the closet along with a black T shirt. Next she found some a pair of dark brown leather boots with a low heel, and a leather jacket of the same color. She quickly looked in the mirror and made herself look presentable before she took off down the stairs, purse in one arm, keys in the other. She leaped over the railing of the last flight of stairs and had her bike out of the parking area in seconds.

The streets were all but empty. Erin took advantage of this and let her motorcycle scream down the streets. It wasn't long before she was at the station and walking through the doors.

"What's the problem Chief? Couldn't have a Patrol Officer handle things while I'm taking a vacation?" Erin said sarcastically.

She wasn't met with the same enthusiasm, rather the Chief looked at her. Shook his bald head, and began, "We've had a string of murders happen as of early this morning. We've ordered all officers to be out on the street trying to figure out what's been going on. So far we haven't found out anything. Trust me, you were the last person I asked to do this."

Erin looked at the Chief a little hurt.

"Look I'm sorry Erin, but you did screw up. You need to understand that," he said quietly.

Erin was about to respond when she was cut off by him, "Start patrolling the run down district, by that fight club you were at the other night."

Erin was shocked anyone knew, someone must have seen her going in with her friends. Word got around fast.

Minutes later she was flying down the street on her bullet bike towards the fight club.

((OOC: Remember, LHBOH, there's still one more victim out there, she just hasn't been found yet :shakehead:))

"Eight people!?" Mike exclaimed.

"Eight. Dead."

"I gotta get home, and check on Maggie. I'll meet you at the office, okay?"

"Sorry, can't do, I'm on patrol. I'll drive you to your place, though, get in the car."

Mike nodded, and stepped into the car with the officer. In just ten minutes they were in front of Mike's building. Mike got out of the car, and rushed to the building. He went for the elevator, and walked in. He reached for his floor button, fourteen. But it looked like the button was forced out. Mike and Maggie were the only people on that floor. Mike ran up the stairs, not knowing what to think. When he got to his hallway, he was breathing hard. He noticed something out of the normal, his door was wide open.

"Maggie? Maggie, are you home?"

When Mike didn't get an answer, he pulled out his holstered weapon, and slowly crept into his apartment, and flicking on the lights. The next sight was horrific. His wife was on the ground, in the middle of the floor, with a pool of blood surrounding her dead body. Mike gulped, and was at a loss of words. Or movement. Mustering up some willpower to move, he shot his gun into the ceiling. The other officer instantly reacted and ran into the building, and up to Mike.

Webb walked towards the woman, meeting her in the middle of the street. He smirked at her hair, but then realized his hadn't been washed for 2 days now. He pulled his Five Seven out of his waistband, intent on staying safe. It was a little weird, only one other person around.

"You know as much as I do. My building's locked up. I've been wandering around for almost 30 minutes trying to find some place to go. What are you doing out here anyways?" he said, trying ot to look intimidating regardless of brandishing a weapon.

Out of another building a man came. He was yelling something at the both of them. Webb immediately raised his pistol at him. This was all getting a little too weird. He might still be suffering from his withdrawal. His gun shook slightly as this thought; he may be around a crowd of people right now, looking completely insane, drawing a weapon. He yelled at the man in a panic.

"Stay back! Stay back! Who are you? What's going on?" he yelled. He turned the gun on the woman, backing away slowly, up against a wall. Hitting it startled him, making him almost squeeze off a round into the woman.

"Am I dreaming? Is this real? Am I still hallucinating?"

Edit: ((OOC: Just the time part.))

IC: Ryan raised his hands in the air as an attempt to keep the man from shooting him.

"Woah woah woah, calm down pal, put the gun away, no ones going to hurt you." Ryan reassured him.

Ryan faintly heard him say "-Am I still hallucinating?"

"No, you're not hallucinating, but if you don't listen to me you're going to die." Ryan said lowering his hands and starting to walk towards the man.

"There are armed criminals all over the streets, and eight people have been found dead. Now if we don't co-operate, were going to end up exactly like those eight people." Ryan explained, he was getting pretty close to the man, he could tell he was nervous.

Mike sat on his living room couch, looking at the now-covered body. He had his hand up to his mouth, he was lost in his own thoughts. Just a day before, we was going to see her, and we couldn't wait. Now, he saw her, and wish he never had.

The room was filled of police officers, and another detective who wanted to take over the case. Since this victim was the wife of a fellow officer, the case was given a sort of special treatment. The other detective in the room confronted Mike.

"Mike, go to the office. Please, you don't wanna be here, do you?"

Mike snapped out of his hypnosis, and looked at the other man.

"My wife? My case." Mike said, standing up.

"Whatever you want, man. I'll leave, see you at the office?"

"See you."

The detective took his things, and left the scene. Mike inspected the area, since it was his own house he knew where everything was. And surprisingly, nothing was out of place. The murderer did good work. Mike walked over to the covered body, and gulped. He pulled gloves out of his back pocket, and put them on his hands. He lifted to the cover, and saw his wife dead on the ground. He lifted her head from the ground, and recognized the type of wound. She was bludgeoned to death.

Webb slowly lowered the gun, his heart beat lowering. He knew what he said was true. No one ever spoke that clearly and that direct to him in his hallucinations. The weapon was still gripped tightly in his hand, but he showed no intent of using it to kill them. The final words of what the man said struck into Webb's mind.

"Psychopathic killers? What the hell are you talking about? I've been out here for half a hour, and you two are the first people I've seen!" he yelled. This man must've been official, because no one could over-exaggerate something quite that much. Webb pondered for a moment.

"Wait... what if they think I killed someone? Or I'm one of the killers? I did just say I'm hallucinating. Oh my god! I could've killed someone while hallucinating!" he thought to himself. He kept a straight, interested face the entire time, something he was very good at. All that training didn't go to waste. Webb kept his mouth shut. Giving people the idea he's a murderer wasn't in his best interest right now.

Alan heard on the news that 8 people have pronounced dead, possibly murdered.

"what the hell is going on!" Alan said allowed.

"you know what, screw this I'm not waiting here to get killed, too"

Alan packed up some Vodka, Nuka-cola, smokes, and some meat too go with him.
He picked up the weapons that he had put next to the door and set off.
Alan came across some 'jet heads' in an ally who were gathered around a barrel.
Soon Alan had come across that guy Ryan, who he met in the bar.

"Hey, Ryan!" Alan said dropping the bag of weapons.

"HEY HEY, PUT THOSE HANDS UP" an officer yelled at him

"wait, I'm not the-" Alan tried saying.

An officer had already tackled Alan to the ground and began to put cuffs on him

"Hey I'm not the killer, I'm not!" Alan protested.

"Oh yeah, why do you have all these weapons then?" The officer asked.

"personal protection" Alan said right back at him.

"Hey man, tell him I'm I'm not the killer" he said, looking at Ryan.

"That's enough officer, I've got this under control." Ryan said, flashing his ID once more.

"Private Investigator Ryan Winchester." Ryan said, ready to shove his ID back into his jacket.

"Hold on there pal, let me see that ID again." The officer said, holding his hand out towards Ryan.

[censored]...

"You're doubting me? I have to say I expected better fr-" Ryan was cut off by the officer.

"Yeah yeah, just hand over the ID."

Ryan had no choice, what was he going to say? 'No'? Ryan reached into his jacket and pulled out his ID,

"Alright, but I don't see what you're getting at here." Ryan said, handing his ID to the officer.

The officer looked over the ID and his eyes widened.

"This ID expired 3 years ago, impersonating a police officer is a felony, you're under a-" As the officer lowered Ryan's ID and began to look at Ryan, he was interrupted, by a quick jab to the face.

The officer fell back onto the damp pavement, unconscious.

"Alright, we've gotta go, come on!" Ryan said, motioning for the group to follow him as he began sprinting down the street.

Faye looked at the officer this 'FBI' agent had downed.

"Wait a minute!" She called.

She knelt beside the officer and unfastened his holster, removing the weapon from him and wrapping it around her own waist. As time was sparse, she didn't thread the belt through the loops on her cargo pants but instead tightened it around her waist. She held it as she ran to catch up with the rest.

"What about him?! Are we just gonna leave him in the middle of the street like that?" She said through breaths though she felt a bit hypocritical worrying about his safety seeing as she had just stolen his firearm.

"I don't see why we can't, besides I need the key for the cuffs" Alan said

Alan bent down, his back turned to the officer so he could grab the key with his hands.
He was able to un-cuff himself, and went back to oick up the bag of weapons.

"Hey, anyone need any of this crap?" he asked.

Webb immediately followed the officer, sticking directly next to him. He didn't want to be led into any traps; the circumstances here weren't great. It all seemed too creepy. He just punched out an officer and had his own expired ID. A man was arrested carrying a bag of weapons, and some courier just stole an officer's weapon. There wasn't much else that could make this day any more weird.

"Explain yourself. what the hell is going on, and why do you have an expired ID?" he asked calmly through his breathing.

The woman and the weapons fellow trailed just behind them. He laughed as one of them struggled to get off his handcuffs. If this was a police force, the city of Miami should be ashamed of themselves.

"No time we've gotta go." Ryan said, as he continued running down the street.

He made a turn in an alleyway and went around a few corners. Just as he was approaching another turn, a man popped out of nowhere and closelined Ryan with a pipe wrench to the throat.

Ryan was pushed backwards into mid-air, and landed on the pavement, the back of his head smacking into a cement curb.

"Ahh!" Ryan grunted in pain, as the crazed criminal attempted to strike down on him again with the wrench. Luckily, Ryan moved out of the way in the nick of time, and the man's wrench slammed onto the curb, pieces of it dispersing onto the pavement.

Webb was shocked a moment as Ryan got layed out onto the pavement. He did realize exactly what had happened, and whether or not this person was a threat. After the second blow to the ground though, he could tell this wasn't an undercover officer. He lifter his handgun at the man, trying to get a decent bead. He squeezed the trigger once and watched his round entered the wall behind the man.

Erin had been patrolling the area for a few hours before she heard shouts one street over. As silently as her bike would allow she made her way over. As she rounded the corner she killed the lights on the motorcycle, using only the few streetlamps to see what was going on. From her point of view it she saw a few people exit into and alley and an officer laying it the street, possibly dead. Erin pulled the small radio mic that was attached near the handle bars of her bike.

"We got an officer down on the corner of 3rd and Park Street, and a group entering the alley to South," Erin murmured quietly.

The response was quick, "Sending another officer to assist, don't move from your position."

Erin watched for a moment as the group started heading down the streets. She was afraid she might lose sight of them.

Pulling up the radio one more time she said, "I'm gonna lose them if I stay, send the officer, I'm going in pursuit."

Erin stepped off her bike and shut the engine off, hoping they hadn't heard. She tucked her P99 pistol into the inside of her jacket. For the first time she noticed how cold it was without the sun, she was glad she had grabbed her jacket. She began walking at a faster pace towards the group, as she passed the officer. She quickly checked for a pulse and was releived when she felt a dull pulsation. He looked like he had been knocked out cold from a well thrown punch. Just before coming into the alley behind the others she watched a crazed man attack another person, whom she couldn't make out, and one man fire off a magnum that tore through the man's skull. She pulled her pistol out of her pocket, and fired a shot at the attacker's thigh, he fell to the ground yelping in pain.

"What's going on here?" she asked, pistol pointed at the man with the magnum.

"[Censored]" Alan said.

"It's Brock, I thought the drop would kill him!"

Alan threw down his weapons bag.

"Alright Brock this is between me and you" Alan said.

Alan punched Brock in the face and he went down.
He got back up and clocked Alan in the head with the pipe.
Alan was knocked unconscious for a few minutes.
All he remembered was Brock getting shot in the leg.

Faye jumped back as the crazed man attacked, Webb missed the shot and was about to be attacked himself. Faye moved quickly, grabbed the man's wrist with one hand and the pipe with the other. Another shot sounded, hitting the man in the leg. Faye took the opportunity to lodge her foot into the man's abdomen and wrench the pipe out of his hands as he fell down on his knees.

Faye span around to see where the shot had come from, pipe raised.

Mike received a message over his radio.

"Any available unit, we have an officer in pursuit on 4th. Any available unit."

Miked pulled out his radio, and responded "This is Officer Just. I'm just a few blocks away, I'll handle it. Over."

"Alright, it's on you. Over and out."

Mike sprinted down the road, losing his breathe quickly. It wasn't because he was tired, but it was because he hoped the officer was in pursuit of the criminal that killed his wife. He heard a gun shot, and saw a flash. A fight broke out in the streets, and Mike ran to the officer with gun drawn.

"Erin!" He yelled.
