That was when Erin's phone went off. She tossed her covers off her and yelled at her ceiling. First she got suspended and now she couldn't sleep in. Groggily she trudged to the table her phone was left on. It had a message from the Police Chief.
The message read, 'Saylee, get to the station, now.'
Erin burst out laughing, first she's told to stay away from the station, and now they want her back. After a fit of laughter she walked to her closet to get dressed. Her closet was larger than average, and if she didn't have so much clothes she would probably be able to afford one of the nicer apartments in Miami. It didn't bother her though, it was a habit that she wasn't going to let go. She pulled some faded blue jeans out of the closet along with a black T shirt. Next she found some a pair of dark brown leather boots with a low heel, and a leather jacket of the same color. She quickly looked in the mirror and made herself look presentable before she took off down the stairs, purse in one arm, keys in the other. She leaped over the railing of the last flight of stairs and had her bike out of the parking area in seconds.
The streets were all but empty. Erin took advantage of this and let her motorcycle scream down the streets. It wasn't long before she was at the station and walking through the doors.
"What's the problem Chief? Couldn't have a Patrol Officer handle things while I'm taking a vacation?" Erin said sarcastically.
She wasn't met with the same enthusiasm, rather the Chief looked at her. Shook his bald head, and began, "We've had a string of murders happen as of early this morning. We've ordered all officers to be out on the street trying to figure out what's been going on. So far we haven't found out anything. Trust me, you were the last person I asked to do this."
Erin looked at the Chief a little hurt.
"Look I'm sorry Erin, but you did screw up. You need to understand that," he said quietly.
Erin was about to respond when she was cut off by him, "Start patrolling the run down district, by that fight club you were at the other night."
Erin was shocked anyone knew, someone must have seen her going in with her friends. Word got around fast.
Minutes later she was flying down the street on her bullet bike towards the fight club.
