Criminal scum vs Arrow to the knee?

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 3:19 pm

Which one was the favourite and why...? Personally for me it was criminal scum, don't get me wrong the arrow to the knee was incredibly funny but I find it much more overused and generally annoying after a while.

"Stop right there!" is known mostly among TES fans. "Arrow to the knee" took over whole Internet

"We're watching you, scum"
For the ones who haven't played Morrowind, that's from Morrowind.

Stop! You violated the law!

Gotta agree with Minamir - "arrow in the knee" no longer belongs to TES. When you come across the other comments, you immediately know you met a fellow TES fan; it'll never be true for arrow in the knee, not anymore. That's why I like guards' comments from the previous games more.

Criminal scum. by a long shot

ordinators i disliked. They had cool (and valuable) armour and all.. but were a [censored] too fight. Their voices were awesome but it actualy seemed to fit the setting. It didn't sound out of place like the knee/scum

Nords are just stupid

They both amuse me. Oblivion guards were more meme worthy though.

Criminal scum was actually amusing, and wasn't exhausted quite so much. Sure, among TES fans it was a fairly well known joke, but it didn't achieve the same widespread meme status arrow in the knee has.

AitK guards could never be as awesome as http://www.prequeladventure.com/this/KatiaDrinkUp.html guards.

"Stop! You Violated the law! Pay the court a fine or serve your sentence! Your stolen goods are now forfeit!"

This one had manage to gain an awesome rap.

To anyone who hates "Arrow in the Knee.".. Play Daggerfall and see how long it takes for "Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt!" to get more annoying.

Telepathic Imperial Guards made me feel safe at night. However, Skyrim stocking the majority of it's Militia with former adventures with bad knees is cause for concern.

i hardly ever heard that line in skyrim, personally i think the ordinators or morrowind catchphrase was the best :We're watching you...scum

This. The Ordinators have the best line of any of the guards.

If someone's knee took an arrow while adventuring, the Jarl should not, under any circumstances, allow them to become guards.

HALT HALT HALT HALT HALT
Yeah, this one is my favorite.

Arrow in the knee is my least favorite because it's EVERYWHERE now and it's one of those things people say senselessly with no appreciation for the original context and with no tact, so it's become completely unfunny.

On the flip side, "Stop right there, criminal scum" now has potential to be funny again.

Why not? I think it make perfect sense for a hero no longer capable of being an adventurer to live a less active but still helpful life as a town guard (Where instead of fighting bears and Dwemer machinery they just have to deal with petty theives most of the time).

Oblivion's guards had the most humorous potential in thir dialogue. People really LOVE the arrow to the knee thing, my god it's so annoying. Even the parodies of the parodies of it have become so commonplace they are meaningless.

I prefer arrow in the knee. I find arrow to the knee to be quite too mainstream and incorrect.
