A Crit / Guns / Sneak Build

Post » Sun Jan 24, 2010 6:10 pm

I've been searching around the forums and found a nice Critical / Guns build and tweaked it to my liking.

The FPS Crit master build

Optional Traits:

Built to Destroy (All weapons have +3% chance to Critically Hit, but equipment condition decays 15% faster.)
Fast Shot (Guns and Energy Weapons fire 20% more quickly, but All shots are 20% less accurate )

Perks:

L2: Rapid Reload (All of your weapon reloads are 25% faster than normal. )
L4: Educated (You gain two more skill points every time you advance in level. )
L6: Run 'n Gun (Reduces accuracy penalties with one-handed ranged weapons while walking or running. )
L8: Travel Light - SURVIVAL 45 ( While wearing light armor or no armor, you run 10% faster. )
L10: Living Anatomy - MEDICINE 70 (Shows health and Damage Threshold of any target. +5% bonus to damage against humans and non-feral ghouls. )
L12: Finesse - LVL 10 ( +5% Critical Chance )
L14: Math Wrath - SCIENCE 70 (Reduces all AP costs by 10% )
L16: Professional - SNEAK 70 (Your sneak attack criticals with revolvers, pistols, and submachine guns (guns and energy weapons) all inflict an additional 20% damage. )
L18: Better Criticals - PER 6, LUCK 6 (+50% damage with critical hits )
L20: Weapon Handling - STR < 10 (Weapon STR requirements are now 2 points lower than normal for you. )
L22: Concentrated Fire - Energy Weapons 60, Guns 60 (More accuracy in V.A.T.S. with every attack on a given body part queued. )
L24: Pack Rat - INT 5, Barter 70 (Items with a weight of two pounds or less now weigh half as much )
L26: Grim Reapers Sprint - LVL 20 (A kill in V.A.T.S. restores 20 AP immediately. )
L28: Intense Training (You can put a single point into any of your SPECIAL attributes. ) For +1 AGI
L30: Nerves of Steel - AGI 7 ( Faster AP regeneration. )

I like the idea of this build very much. With a focus on Handguns and some sneak added in, I feel like this build will have me dealing out great amounts of damage to my enemies. The point is this: Shoot first, ask questions later.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. List your builds here! I'm interested in seeing how others are planning and playing New Vegas.

tbh sneak attacks with rifles are pretty neat, thanks to my new graphics card i can see people a fair distance away so i can snipe at them from relative safety.

Spoiler
But sneak attacks with pistols are just as nice, also being able to run with pistols is a bonus (thereby not having to holster them to run faster) Idk about science feat, how the hell do you hack computers? that one totally confuses me no end.

oh and regards to your build, i'm not so sure about having 9 luck. i mean if you're going to go pistol heavy wouldn't more agility and perception be better?

Looked into it. I think I'll bring my Luck from 9 down to 8, and increase my AGI from 6 to 7. I originally picked that extra point of Luck because of the Crit chance and increased skill points.

He, i'm still not set on a build either. Keep starting over to change something and i cant find any info, as to whether or not the implants count towards fullfilling perk requirements or not.
