I voted for them all. The more weapons the merrier.

I'd love some REAL katanas: Two-handed swords that are worn cutting edge up on the belt so you can unsheathe and strike in one fast movement.

Yes to more weapon variety. I miss my spears and crossbows, and I'd even like to see medium armor brought back, but I don't think it will be.

Fixed. Nords drink mead! :grad: :P I also support this.

I'm more of a bow than crossbow kind of guy but I would like to see them come back cause I know a lot of you would be happy about that
Spears and Flails would also be welcome returns!

Well I learn something new every day! :celebration:

At any rate. I voted for; Crossbows, Spears, Flails and Dual wield daggers(And only daggers).
I know throwing stars were in Morrowind but they just don't feel right to me in this setting(Especially Skyrim).

I hope there'll be crossbows (hand crossbows for assassin types are probably too much to expect, from an animation standpoint), and I really hope there'll be spears (one-handed spears especially, to pair with a shield).

Various flail-type weapons would be excellent, and any other "flexible" types of weapon (nets, scourges/whips...), but again I can see animation being a limiting factor.

Uhmm... why would there be nunchucks in a TES game?

And yes, I want crossbows back and yes, I want spears back.

The crossbow is such a clunky, slow and ugly weapon, but I guess no world modeled after the High Middle Ages is complete without one. I for one don't care whether they add it or not, I'm going to stick to bow anyway. On the other hand, I'd like to see some primitive gunpowder weapons.

I'm surprised that a lot of people voted no on both. I'd also like to see polearms, the spiked-ball & chain (MorningStar or Flail), Trident/Triton, Sai, Bo.... more Asiatic weapons and stuff, even though my character doesn't use any weapons at all, I'm sure there are lots of players that would fancy weapons like that. Then again, some of the things I'm mentioning wouldn't fit in the Skyrim territory. They can always be "imported" so to speak.

Crossbows aren't a must for me: This is to be based off a nordic setting, and vikings with crossbows just don't seem right to me, neither IRL nor their TES equivalent. Spears are a certain must, it is the most important weapon of a nordic warrior or common fighter, next to the shield. An axe for self defense if the enemy gets too close or the spear breaks, and a sword for those who can afford to have one.

All that ninja crap is a no-go for me. No throwing stars or whatever. Throwing axes and spears, on the other hand...

Flail might be okay-ish, as an imperial weapon, though the same could be said about the crossbow then.

Dual wielding is a great idea, as long as in the second hand, there's a shield and not another weapon. Using a dagger as secondary weapon with a sword / rapier is a very modern development, and not one of war, but one of duelling.

The katana, wakizashi, and tanto have been traditional weapons of the TES series, and with shuriken and throwing daggers being introduced in Morrowind, I guess those can be classified as such too. It's also worth mentioning how metal gauntlets were regarded as weapons in Arena. Implementing any of these weapons, as well as crossbows and spears/polearms would be nod to previous installments that I think would make many fans happy. Not to mention more weapons to choose from, and that's http://adul.net/?p=dl_mwmods_aduls_arsenal.

Yes, yes, throwing stars (and knives, etc).

I'd also like a way for misc objects to be used as very low-level throwing and blunt weapons. Someone with a high marksman skill could probably do a decent amount of damage with some steak knives grabbed off a table.

If they add crossbows, I hope they're way more powerful than bows.

I support throw-able Tankards of Ale for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

As do I.

Snowballs. I want to be able to throw snowballs. :cold:

Yes please.

Yes, yes, throwing stars (and knives, etc).

this is an interesting idea, using common items as weapons. at the very least this needs to be a mod. I rather like the idea of taking people out with forks. It would make Big Head proud

I'd say crossbows are a given. Fair enough, Beth wanted to perfect archery in Oblivion so bows were the only ranged non-magic option, but that's sorted now, so I'd be half-expecting crossbows. To a lesser extent, throwing stars, too, especially since they were in MW.

Flails, nunchucks? I've never seen them in TES before, so I don't expect to find them now, and they're not weapons I'd be desperate for, nor do I feel any real-world martial arts weapon could fit into the game well.

Dual-wielding small weapons would be interesting - it has scope for new special attacks - but I'd say it has a smaller chance of integration than crossbows do.

New question: If crossbows are in, should they be the small, compact ones ala Assassin's Creed, or a longer one, that would require both hands to use?

Personally, I'd prefer the latter, in terms of the setting and of balance. The longer one would also justify it having higher power than a bow and arrow.

I could possibly see some early sorts of crossbows that would have a longer reload time then bows or longbows but have a higher damage rating in order to compensate. One thing i would love to see would be a pistol sized crossbow for assassins (almost like the demon hunter in diablo). As much as shiruken would seem out of place in Skyrim I could see some of these weapons being sold in the assassin's 'guild'. As much as i would like to entertain the idea of primitive gunpowder weapons, a gun (no matter how primitive) is still a gun and that is best left in the Fallout series

I would sure love the crossbow more then the regular bow..Still there should be both, but one should have its pros and cons..Like, crossbows kinda shoot straight ,so it could have less range than the bows but would have more damage.
Spears?? I've been waiting for them since effin Morrowind! xD
Now the dual-wielding, that is awsome! If we are in Skyrim which will resemble to the vikings and stuff, one should actually have like 2 short swords or 2 short something and daggers definitely!
But now having 2 long swords or even 2 normal swords or maces whatever , wouldn't go right..

I'd like to see all of those (well, except for Nunchucks; not very "Tamrielesque"), plus matchlock muskets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KTS8PQ06Qo (yes, I think they're primitive enough to be in an ES game)
