Crossbow mods?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:33 pm

Are there any mods that make the crossbows less like the BR in Halo 3? I think you should have to wait a (relatively speaking) long between shots.

Both Marksman and Xenn's Marksman Overhaul do this, but do a lot of other things too. You can easily change the speed of all crossbows in the game in the CS if you don't want all the extra stuff, or the speeds aren't to your liking.

When I searched crossbow(on this forum) nothing came up, thanks. I might not use them because I like the vanilla bows. Do I need to set the"main data file for morrowind" as an active file to edit the game? because I can't find anywhere to edit things already in the game. I can't set it as the active file because it says there's an "animation group problem". I didn't reply to your last post because you misunderstood most of the things I said.

1) Open up TES Construction Set
2) Go to File > Data Files and select Morrowind.esm (expansions too if you want to edito something that comes with them), click OK, wait till everything loads
3) Go to Weapons tab
4) click on Type co types get sorted alphabetically
5) Find your crossbow (marksman type)
6) Double clock on it
7) Edit the "speed" value - lover it for a slower reloading, raise for fast shooting
8) Click save in the weapon's properties window, repeat for other crossbows
9) Go to File > Save and type your plugin's name. Save
10) Open up Morrowind Launcher and check you newly created plugin
11) Enjoy :)

Well, you could clarify. if you mean the post from the other thread, it wasn't clear what you were after, which I pointed out.

I when I try and do that it has an error

What is the error?

"Animation group note problem. See Warnings.txt file.

continue running executable?

yes no"
If I click yes the window pops up again and if I click no it closes the closes the program. I'm going to install some updates and see if it works.

I misunderstood you as well because I couldn't open the Morrowind datafile and edit the games unique items so I thought I needed to recreate them  :D

Are you using AnimKit? If so, try using it's "Fix Animation Errors" function.

If you add the line AllowYesToAll=1 under the General section of the Morrowind.ini, it will allow you to press Cancel in the window that pops up while still logging all of the errors. Were there any errors other than that? Warnings.txt can be found in the Morrowind directory.

Oh I see about the .esm. It's true that the tutorial I linked didn't mention to load it, which is odd for a tutorial, and I didn't notice it. You'll probably want to use a little mod called GMST Vaccine while editing when not loading all three .esms in the CS, otherwise your mod will end up "dirty". Load it, but don't set it to active. http://wryemusings.com/#NotesandUtils

Looks very useful, but the link to the GMST Vaccine mod itself doesn't work. Is there another download location?

Huh. I posted it for someone else the other day, and it downloaded fine then. Well, it's on PES. Just do a search for it.

Yeah sometimes when I use Bound Bow and ready an arrow without firing before the duration ends, I get a window come up when telling me I'm missing"arrowbone" or something. It doesn't matter because I can close the window and it usually doesn't happen.

I sent him a link in a pm.
