There was a PC Gamer UK article a few months ago that listed polearms as a weapon type in a table they used to demonstrate what you could have in each hand.

This could be outdated but i take 'sprears not in the traditional sense' could mean polearm weapons are in like halberds and the like

afterall they're long like spears but the fighting style would be different.

I thought halberds were in.

They are just 2 handed axes in my eyes, Halberds have a much longer shaft, so when the shaft is rested on the ground the top of the blade is well above head height

I just don't get it. One of the bigger complaints about Oblivion. And it's not a "Fast Travel" type debate. No one would lose if they were to be implemented.

Argonian with a spear was one of the best looking characters you could play in Morrowind. :)

Maybe were going to get lances for when your mounted? IDK, would be awesome to ride a Dragon with a lance in hand but thats not going to happen. Most likely we are going to see variations of spears in the concept of poll-arms, Scythes and farming tools.

Its just a waiting game until more content is confirmed :(

I'll still say that they're not in because they can't implement them well.

Crossbows could be a slower shooting bow, but I guess they wanted to concentrate on the bow mechanics better...

Spears are really hard to implement properly, I haven't seen a game that could do it (people say mount&blade, but from the videos I saw it really looked clumsy and just wrong...). If they add spears, make them more than just daggers with longer reach...

King Kong the video game did spears very well in my opinion. You could throw it and pick it back up "unless it broke" or you could do a quick jab.

I think he said only bows and no crossbows, with the way they've made bows in skyrim work they weren't able to think of a way to make crossbows feel like a different weapon.

Was there not a dual wield chart type thing a few months back that confirmed halbreds?
