Not sure if this is the right section to be posting this but was wondering are there any crossbows in Oblivion? I know there was some in Morrowind But haven't seen any in Oblivion yet.

Nay, unless you are a PC Oblivion user and install one of a number of crossbow enabling mods.

Nope. No crossbows in Oblivion (unless you try to add them with a mod I suppose). Luvs longbows!!!

There are a number of mods for crossbows as mentioned, not sure how good they are though. If I justify it for my character's MO I might try one...

Hmm? The Crossbows for Cyrodiil Mod slotted beautifully into my Oblivion game. In most cases I prefer to use an ordinary bow anyway, but they were very well done and I was only playing a Beta version of the mod. It wont harm you to try it, and I really enjoyed it.

Shame there are no crossbows in the vanilla game. They're an awesome weapon and fit some characters perfectly. Unless you have the PC version of the game, standard bows are going to have to do.

I sure do miss crossbows and spears in Oblivion.

I'll have to investigate the Crossbow mod. I have added spears but they are not the same. The animation is all wrong in first person.

Well you make a persuasive argument and Talos knows I'm all for trying out mods!! I might give them a go then...

Haha, it's what I do for a living. Seriously though, I really enjoyed the Mod and it seemed to me like the crossbows and bolts were meant to be in the game from the start.

I think town guards would be better off with spears. Lothran too
