Crosshair Mod?

Post » Fri Dec 18, 2009 12:26 am

I have two questions here:

1. Is it actually possible to create a mod in which the crosshair colour will change when something is targeted? eg. a red crosshair when an enemy is targeted, and a green crosshair when a friendly character is targetted.

2. If so, is it out there? I've tried searching, but can only find crosshair replacers, and don't know what to search to filter them out.

Thanks. ^_^ I've just been getting quite annoyed at friendly NPC's I've been accidentaly killing and having to let NPC's see me to check if they're friendly (On stealth characters).

And is this in Oblivion? If not I'd like to suggest it in the TESV suggestion thread :).

Only one I know of is here: http://yacoby.silgrad.com/MW/Mods/ownershipindicator.htm

Turns the crosshair red when hovered over an object that doesn't belong to the character.

It only filters items, like Oblivion, so you know what you can use/pick up and what you can't.

It doesn't affect NPCs, and I don't think that there is currently a mod that does so. Perhaps you could make one that does this based on the techniques used making this mod, or request one to be made? :)

Not a crosshair mod but Fliggerty's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=4887 might help you. From what you're saying I think you'll need the MWSE version.

Hmm.. that seems to only show when in combat, correct? If so, it might help. Are NPCs counted as in combat when they can't see you? I'll be testing this when I get back home ^_^

Work normally? I know the first mod also needs MGE.

They don't work as intended. The ownsership mod doesn't tell me anything when I look at an owned item, and the health indicator doesn't show up often enough for me to not just use the yellow bar. At least, this is for me. I also am using MGE. No worries, though ^_^

Please ensure if you are using a mod that requires MGE you are not using a separate version of MWSE. You must use the version of MWSE included with MGE. It is enabled by default I think.
