I tried making my own personal base at Croup Manor, but I just can't seem to enjoy rebuilding the place. Let alone the annoying clipping that comes with patching up the walls. The basemant doesn't seem to be included in the building aspect either.

I haven't tried Kingsport yet though. It seems like a nice place to build for yourself, and set up a warehouse of power armor.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

EDIT: I'm looking for a place just for me. I'm not really into the whole settlement thing.

(I wish you could buy player housing still, and not just the place in Diamond City)

croup seems nice but the house is in ruins, the property line stops right before the water and it's close to fairly powerful raider spawns that the whole town will run out to attack the moment you show up. Haven't been to the lighthouse.

I have 3 artillery at Croup Manor...it reaches some dense enemy camps nearby..mainly the satellite array that has super mutants all around..fun to play around with

Other then the holes in the Kingsport house ceiling and wall up stairs... I love this location. Its my own personal fortress. I have my own little machine shop down in the building on the docks. I have a weapon and armor bench as well as storage. I have a power armor stand. Its all powered up with lights thanks to a generator. I even have a classical radio in there.

In the house I have a working cook stove in the kitchen. freezer outside for foods and such. The beds up stairs are under portions of the roof where there is a roof. And I have a full security system in place as well. And since no settlers are there. its never under attack.

My favourite of all is egret tours marina. I much prefer being able to build a flat structure out on the water. The beauty of this spot is 2 jetties and a boat that are all exactly the same elevation. So the structure I've ended up with is big, and yet very tidy with no ugly clipping.
